Beth’s Outfit: Coastal Classic in a Maxi Dress

The Alder Maxi Dress from J.McLaughlin makes seaside style look effortless. The flowy silhouette and understated nautical stripe feel refined yet relaxed—perfect for patio dinners or beachside escapes.
I paired it with red leather slide sandals for comfort and polish, then added subtle shimmer with my Caviar Apple Watchband, Lagos Signature Caviar Two Tone Earrings, and a Gold Lariat Necklace for a little maritime sparkle.

Kelly’s Outfit: Elevated Ease for a Casual Coastal Day
I love when an outfit feels as easy as a sea breeze. My Maeve Ribbed Muscle Tank from Anthropologie is a warm-weather staple—simple and polished. I paired it with the Ann Taylor Petite City Short, which hits just right on a petite frame, giving structure without stiffness.

To finish the look, I slipped on Black Platform Wedge Sandals, which give height and style without sacrificing comfort. This look is casual enough for a dockside lunch but put-together enough for impromptu dinner plans.

Lemon Herb Sautéed Shrimp
A simple yet flavor-packed dish that’s perfect for a Friday night in or a casual outdoor gathering. I plated the shrimp over couscous tossed with cucumber, tomato, feta, and olives for a light Mediterranean twist.

Lemon Herb Sautéed Shrimp
Ingredients:
- 1½ lbs large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions:
- Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel and season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
- Stir in lemon juice, zest, and parsley. Toss to coat.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
To Serve:
- Spoon over couscous or quinoa, with fresh veggies, like cucumber and tomatoes. I tossed the cooked and cooled couscous with diced cucumber, tomato, feta, and kalamata olives, along with a red wine vinaigrette for a light salad.

Frequently Asked Questions
Recipe Questions Answered
Q. Can I substitute the shrimp for another protein?
A. Absolutely. Scallops or grilled chicken would both work beautifully with the same seasonings.
Q. Is there a non-alcoholic version of the Cucumber Gin Fizz?
A. Yes! Swap the gin and tonic water for sparkling water or a cucumber-flavored soda for a refreshing mocktail.
Q. What can I use instead of couscous for the salad?
A. Quinoa, orzo, or farro are great substitutes that soak up flavor while staying light.

I made your Green Goddess Pasta Salad for my book club last night. It was perfect for a hot day (we had wanted to have book club at poolside, but it was too hot). Delicious. Thank you. Arna
