How to Add Some Glam to Your Makeup this Holiday Season: Part 1
SANTA BABY CHEEKS
In today’s look, I am going for an all-out festive and fancy look – full sequin top and all! Here are a couple of quick ideas of inspiration to try with your makeup when hitting the holiday party scene.

Do Santa red cheeks sound like they’d only work for the big guy with the beard?? Think again. Everyone can wear red cheeks – from fair to dark skin. The trick is to go in light layers with this shade, for an unexpected gorgeous pop of color on the face that is instant!

How to do it : I am a big fan of the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Beauty Blush wands, $42, especially in shade “Dream Pop.” This reads as a cherry red pink, and is literally the perfect soft shade of flattering holiday red. Start with just a dot of this shade high on the cheekbone. Then immediately grab the best makeup brush to apply all of your cream blushes with from Rare Beauty here. Take it in light swirls until it looks airbrushed on and smooth.

No need for a bright lip with this cheek, because you want it to take center stage. Just throw on a simple sheer red gloss to compliment, such as the Maybelline Lifter Gloss in “Sweetheart” that I’m wearing here.
This combo is giving that sleigh ride-in-the-snow windy-cheek look 🙂

FESTIVE WITH FALSIES
Adding a strip of false lashes to your holiday makeup look will take it to the next level. I love how stunning falsies can look paired with the most simple eye look, or all the way to the most shimmery glitter ones! You won’t believe how this opens up the eyes and give so much glamour!

How to do it: First you need to buy the right style of lash for your eye beds. If you’re on the hunt for false lashes, but have small hooded lids and need something that looks super realistic, try the Eylure Naturals No. 031 style, $4. If you want a bit more fullness than those give, take a step up to the Ardell Naked Lashes in style 420, $4, which still looks realistic but very flirty with the extra fringe (what I’m wearing in this post).
Both are very comfortable styles with thin bands, which makes them perfect for beginner lash wearers.

The easiest tips for application, are:
- go ahead and place one strip onto your natural lash line (no glue!) to make sure you don’t need to cut them. If you do, cut them from the outside until the length works with your natural lash line
- now curl your natural lashes with a lash curler and apply a light coat of mascara on them
- take your lash glue, and apply a decent amount along the backside of the fake lash (a Q-Tip works well), let it dry down for a few seconds
- then place the strip into the center of the lash line, then press down from the outside towards the inner corner as closely as you can get to your natural lash line
- then add another coat of mascara to blend the two together!
