when it comes time to don my travel duds, i typically sneak in a scarf. one reason is that they always perk up even the humblest of outfits. two, they chase away the chill. and airports are always below zero.
today, i’m headed to colder climes. minneapolis to be exact. so i pulled on a cashmere turtleneck sweater. and tossed on a long cardigan for extra warmth. did you notice the fringed hem? this continues to be a big trend for 2016. one of my style tricks is to pair a trend with a classic. which keeps the overall look from going over the top. faux leather leggings are still going strong this season (they just might reach classic status) and they add a little chicness to this head-to-toe black ensemble. a leather tote is the perfect travel accessory. i can tuck magazines, phone chargers, even a laptop inside with ease. now, all that’s left to do is bring in a pop of color with my shoes and scarf.
whew! another ootd in the books. if you’re on snapchat, follow along with me as i head to my old stomping grounds – minneapolis. brrrr the highs on wednesday will be 48.

I’m loving the entire look–those shoes are greatness. And Ive been considering faux-leather leggings but are concerned about the sweat factor since they don’t breathe–thoughts????
hi cathy! thanks for stopping by. as for my thought with faux leather leggings. they are actually quite comfortable. but i only wear them when the temps are cooler as they do keep me warm. when we lived in san francisco i wore them year round (SF is quite chilly during the summer months) now that we live in georgia most likely, i will only wear them during the fall and winter months.
hope that helps!

Love this! The shoes are the star… Have a good time in the Twin Cities. xoxo
i’ve been crushing on red shoes lately, donna! but they perk up an outfit in no time. i had a ball in MSP. love that city. i’d still be living there if it weren’t for those loooooong winters.

Check you out ! and those heels – wow I would have never known they were from Zara. Looking fab.
Ohhhhh, Black is my favorite all time outfit to wear. Love those leggings, love those shoes, love the scarf..love black turtle necks..and the scarf…you look terrific!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you just made my day! but black always works, it’s simple and chic. so what else do we need?

Great look! I have a pair of faux leather pants but haven’t pulled them out yet this year. I love the red shoes with this, and the fringe edge is a nice touch. Happy travels!
well, october should offer a few cooler days so you can take advantage of your faux leather pants. i always breath a sigh of relief after the zipper is zipped and i still fit into them! i don’t know why, but red shoes have been my thing as of late..
