monday morning needs two things: a strong cup of coffee, and a killer outfit. well, i’ve poured myself a cup of joe. so it’s onto that ootd.
several years ago, j.crew offered a matching skirt and blouse that to this day i wished i owned. it was navy blue with pink hearts… but when i spied this black cherry pleated skirt and shirt it gave me the same sort of wow factor i felt about the outfit that got away. this skirt and blouse is a killer combo that looks like a dress when paired together. but, boy-oh-boy, do i look forward to mixing and matching the separates into a gazillion different outfits. okay, maybe a zillion is more realistic. one thing is certain, i LOVE fall fashion this year. and, j.crew is one reason why.
today’s outfit is a simple nine-to-five look that can fly solo. or, for a more conservative look simply don a black blazer. my red block heels are back in action today. and i’m playing matchy-matchy with the addition of a red leather clutch. a black belt for contrast, a pearl necklace, and i’m ready for my second cup of coffee. this week’s off to a good start!

So chic! Have a nice week, letizia
thanks, letizia! the cherry print just makes the outfit and the skirt moves with ease. can’t wait to pair it with other items.

Very lady like! Love it!
this outfit is so feminine, maria! but fun and flirty at the same time due to the print. isn’t it fun to be a girl?

Very feminine and fun! Can’t wait to see what you do with the outfit as separates… xoxo
there’s nothing like a flirty skirt, donna! it just moves with grace and ease. it’s fun to be a girl.

I saw this on the website–very pretty! And it will be versatile. Classics never go out of style. This will be around a long time, and I imagine it’ll span seasons, too!
Hmmmm…Thought I left a comment but guess not! I saw this on their website. I was thinking it’s a classic look and will be versatile and season-spanning! You’ll have this for a long time! You look lovely!
i love how j.crew always sneaks in matching separates with an iconic print. then we can mix and match til the cows come home (as my mother would say). you are so right, sue. i will have this ensemble for years and never tire of it.
xoxo
