Stuck in a Rut? Here’s How to Reset for July

With the 4th of July on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to pause, reset, and reimagine how you want to feel for the rest of the season. A quick seasonal reset can help you take stock of your wardrobe, rethink your style goals, and refresh your space—so you feel confident and organized all month long. Here’s how to prep for a stylish, stress-free July in just a few easy steps.

How to Prep for a Stylish July: Seasonal Reset Tips

Evaluate What You’ve Actually Been Wearing

Velvet Non-Slip Hangers

Before you buy anything new, look at what’s on repeat—and what hasn’t left the hanger. Take note of the silhouettes, colors, and fabrics you’re gravitating toward, then set aside what’s not working for the season. Use matching hangers to give your closet a calm, cohesive look as you edit.

Rotate In July-Friendly Pieces

Clear Storage Bins with Lids

Pack away heavy layers or anything that feels too spring-y. Make space for breezy dresses, linen separates, and relaxed basics that work for hotter weather. Use stackable, lidded bins for off-season storage you can slide under the bed or on a shelf.

Set a Style Mini Goal

Stitched Notebook Set

Want to wear more color? Try a new silhouette? Set one small goal for July that feels fun—not overwhelming. Keep it front of mind by jotting it down in a daily journal or even sticking a note to your mirror.

Refresh Your Closet Organization

Woven Baskets with Labels

Tidy up high-traffic zones like drawers and accessory shelves. Use labeled baskets or bins to sort belts, scarves, and clutches—items that can get overlooked but make a big impact when styled well.

Give Your Shoes a Moment Too

Over-the-Door Shoe Organizer

Summer shoes deserve attention! Pull out sandals, espadrilles, and flats, and check for any pairs that need a polish or repair. Use a slim shoe rack or hanging organizer to make what you do want to wear easy to see and grab.

Edit Your Jewelry for the Season

Stackable Jewelry Trays

Lightweight jewelry makes a big difference in summer outfits. Take 10 minutes to sort through your collection and move bold statement pieces or delicate gold layers to the front. These trays make your favorite items easy to access and keep organized.

Your Seasonal Reset

A mid-summer seasonal reset is the secret to feeling refreshed, inspired, and pulled-together without a full overhaul. With just a few small changes—editing, rotating, setting intentions—you can streamline your space and style while making room for what actually works for your life right now.

My Mini style Goals: This week I’m going for it and I’ve been wearing my sleeveless shift dresses every day. I feel SO MUCH COOLER: It is 90 degrees & 90 % humidity. After 67 years of hiding my arms… I am officially over it. July: I’ll be rocking RED WHITE & BLUE every day. It is so much fun to set a style goal. It really encourages wearing the unworn items. In February I decided to wear red somewhere in my outfit every day the entire month. I tried Green in March but I don’t have that much Green and March is a long month! I think November was Corduroy Month. I’ve never tried a silhouette month. Maybe August can be Shorts everyday or a dress/skirt everyday. Love your style and your posts! Thank you.
