a little bit of rain, a few wind gusts, chilly temps and an entire afternoon spent without power. yes, those were the highlights of my weekend. so what does one do when their hair isn’t up to snuff? put a hat on it! now i understand why women wore their hair long and had a few bonnets at their beck and call way back when. oh, the modern convenience of a blowdryer.
anyhoo, i do like hats and should wear them regularly. this fedora is by j.crew from several years ago but take a look here and here. faux suede pants by chico’s are current this year as is the cream sweater underneath the poncho. it’s hard to tell from the photos, but it has tie sleeves and ruffled neck. take a look here. it was cold enough to add a scarf from j.crew for extra warmth, but i’ve always loved this muted color palette with pinks and greens, and it’s been a favorite for several years. i’ve linked similar scarves here and here.
the cream de resistance is this boucle poncho by ralph lauren purchased last season that not only keeps the chill at bay but pulls double-duty by looking stylish. similar here and here

Beth, as always, you look fabulous! And you’re right about hats, they are useful and chic. I need a fall hat so that’s my mission this week. Thanks for the reminder… ☺
Oh these colors are so very nice on you! I used to love hat hair days when we were in a cold climate. Now, temps are too warm and the hats are mainly for sun protection. I do need to up my game on those! Have a lovely week!
You look very jaunty and comfortable in this lovely outfit. I love the way the subtle fall colors look against the background of turning leaves. Living in NYC, I have never worn a poncho or shawl as I think it is difficult to maneuver in busy streets carrying a handbag and packages but I do like the look of it so maybe one day!
Great thoughts and outfit! Our lights blinked a few times up here, last night during a storm..I’ve been thinking about a fedora from sahali, hmm. Those pants with the poncho are perfect, too. Happy Monday, Beth.
wonderful hat! I think it’s perfect with the poncho. Great palette here. It got very cold last night and today is a fabulous day for bundling up. Monday and cold temps made it hard to crawl out of those covers this morning!
Great look Beth! These colors are like white chocolate and caramel:). Yummy!
