if it’s fall then it’s time for faux fur like this cardigan from banana republic. there are certain wardrobe staples that brands trot out year after year. like a blue blazer, pinstripe pants, faux fur vest, camel coat, or a faux fur cardigan. there are subtle style differences tweaked each year – pockets no pockets, statement sleeves, tapered legs wide legs, belted or hidden placket. but rest assured if you pay attention to the brands you will learn what their must-have’s are and patiently wait for the current model to be rolled out. j.crew will always carry a striped tee, italian cashmere, or ballet flats.
suede pumps are on that list too. this pair by vince camuto is updated with a low vamp and may have a shorter life cycle due to this style feature. and an ivory blouse? well, who doesn’t own one? it’s a flattering color for everyone, more so than white, and can be worn multiple ways, making it a versatile investment piece. look for interesting details like french cuffs or a mandarin collar that keeps your outfit looking fresh and modern.

Love that cardigan! The fur collar is so elegant.
I thought the same!! I also like the bag of course 🙂
what would we do without handbags and shoes?! but handbags are an investment so i’ll pick a handbag over shoes any day.

Oh boy, where to start? I am in love with this outfit! I think it’s one of my favorite of your looks:). And also thanks for reminding me that I have a similar cardigan, so honestly speaking I am going to kind of copy this look for myself:))).

Lovely! What a pretty sweater. I can see that with a million different things. You’ve styled it perfectly. You’ve made me remember a nice, slim, wool vest with a detachable faux fur collar that I always get compliments on. I have had that darned thing for years and it still makes me happy–it’s a Talbots and it’s classic, so it will never really go out of style.
Those shoes tie in the sweater beautifully.
always happy to help, sue!
