  1. Sophia Britner Montgomery says:

Like the idea of adding a cocktail recipe! I want to try a sidecar but prefer to wear a cloche hat and opera pearls when I do!

  2. Rebecca Saffer says:

What a fun post! I love how you have elevated the cocktail hour to its proper delightful place in life. A few years ago I saw a wonderful museum exhibit on the Cocktail Hour at the Norton Museum in Palm Beach Florida. There is a fabulous book on the exhibit and in fact I was looking at it yesterday. You would love it.

  3. Sue Smith says:

Save some Baileys for me! Oscar and Ollie look like they’re in party mode. Happy Friday!

  4. Mary Terrass says:

I had my first tequila sunrise at the Airliner in Iowa City. Thanks for taking me down memory lane, Beth!

  5. Denise Anderson says:

Ooh, I want to share one of my fav cocktails with you – it’s based on a Canadian product, but so refined and unusual:
    Maple Martini
30 ml (1 oz.) maple liqueur (like Sortilège or Grand Esprit)
30 ml (1 oz.) Irish cream
    30 ml (1 oz.) milk
    Ice cubes
    Cocoa powder
Combine all ingredients except cocoa powder in a shaker filled with ice.
Shake vigorously for 8 to 10 seconds.
Strain over a martini glass using an ice strainer.
    Garnish with cocoa powder
