every once in a while it’s fun to exchange my blue jeans for a dress especially if lunch is involved. there’s something feminine and flirty about wearing a dress. whenever i have one on, i can’t help but think ‘i enjoy being a girl!’ although, like most items in my closet, i keep the overall look streamlined.
today’s ootd features subtle details like a fringed hemline and windowpane print. bouclé (the fabric found in my dress and blazer) was popularized years ago by the infamous coco chanel. this is a fabric that lends itself to being dressed up or down or anything in between. its soft texture is what adds a feminine touch to my outfit without the need for a ruffle or bow. i’ve added a structured bouclé jacket to bring some spit and polish to the look. accessories are kept to a minimum today as the dress is the main attraction. but i couldn’t resist wearing a pair of red pumps for a little extra pizazz.
there you have it ladies, a perfect outfit for ladies who lunch. happy hump day!

Love the look, and you’re so lucky that you can wear hemlines above the knee. I don’t have the legs for that, so I have to stick to longer hemlines or wear leggings with shorter dresses. But this ootd is lovely on you.
thanks cindy! i am lucky to have legs that work with all hemlines. but i’m happy to hear you have found a way to wear a shorter dress. i love leggings or denim paired with dresses. tres chic!

Agree you look marvelous in the get up today. What caught my eye tho is the mention of our dear Coco…we have her quote posted on every page of our firm’s website laurelbledsoedesign.com. – Here’s to our role model and to you for living her motto.-Laurel

i couldn’t agree with coco more! luxury and comfort go hand in hand. good for you for incorporating that motto into design firm. form and function – yup, it works!

Lovely outfit for “ladies who lunch”. You are wearing one of my favorite pairs of shoes from your closet. Couldn’t wear the above the knee dress or the shoes but they look fabulous on you. xoxo
i do like these red shoes donna! it’s always fun to find different outfits to pair them with. and i’m lucky enough to still be able to wear both a shorter dress and heels! i’ll take it.

The hemline just makes it! And the shoes, well…. we know how I feel about shoes!

hi nikki!
the fringe hemline makes this dress fun and flirty! and these red pumps are one of my favorites to wear!

How nice to honor your friends by dressing up for lunch with them. The dress is great and so versatile. Thanks for the inspiration but I probably have to wait until the weekend to wear a dress because it is frigid here today. Coco Chanel and Jackie O. are 2 of my ladies for outfit inspiration. You whole look is fabulous.
hi sharon! isn’t it nice to pop a dress on now and then? i do love my blue jeans but nothing is more feminine than a dress. and yes, those temps have us all scrambling for our sweaters and coats. but i looked at our 10 day forecast here in georgia and we’ll be climbing out of the freezer day by day. hooray! hope the same holds true for you.

Heyyy nice combination … but i m having doubt … why black handbag when you are wearing black top ??? white could have been nice
well, that’s the great thing about style, ronn, you can add any accessory you like to tailor the outfit to your liking. I chose this handbag because of the texture – it’s snakeskin and i loved how it looked next to the boucle dress and jacket. but if you like white – go for it!

Great season-spanning outfit. The shoes are perfect with it. Love the fringey hemline.
this fringe hemline is what i particularly like about this dress. it’s always about the details and this dress has a few that i like!
