wheels up. my passport is dusted off as it’s time to leave on a jet plane. i’ve been invited to a workshop taking place in london. both thursday and friday i’ll join a panel of experts that share a variety of viewpoints on aging and beauty and trends and all things pertained to ‘style at a certain age.’ what an experience! needless to say, it’s always a good day to visit one of my favorite cities. there’s sure to be many changes since my last visit more than a decade ago.
mr. style will be staying home in georgia. but oscar will be by his side keeping him company. there would have been some fab photo opportunities if he’d tagged along. but you’ll still catch a glimpse of ‘what i wore.’ right here on my daily posts. if you are interested in any behind the scenes footage while i’m in merry old england follow me on snapchat and instastories.
today’s ootd is all about comfort for an eight-hour flight. skinny cargo’s, cable knit sweater, and slip-on sneakers should do the trick. but i couldn’t forget to grab a wool coat to keep me warm once i hit the streets of london. the temps are hovering in the forties. brrrr. as long as i stay bundled up with hats, gloves, and scarves i should be set to visit trafalgar square. or maybe the christmas decorations at harrods. or maybe that double-decker bus.
cheerio!

What a great opportunity! Have a great time?
what a wonderful opportunity! there were eight countries represented and we had a ball.

Enjoy your fabulous trip! We will want to hear all about it when you return. That’s a big deal to be included in a panel such as this. xoxo
hi donna! i’m already back home. the past week just flew by in a blur. but what a wonderful workshop. eight countries were represented and we discussed many topics that targeted the 35+ woman and the 55+ woman. lot’s of great ideas are out there.
xoxo
Have fun! I wondered if you were heading to Marks & Spencer. Should be good discussions since you’ll be representing! Have a great trip!
hi sue! i’m already back home. what a marvelous panel of experts i joined to discuss the aging woman. which begins for caucasians at 35. there are some thoughtful ideas in the marketplace. and we’ll continue to push back the age barrier. major brands (at least overseas) are getting the fact we are an important demographic.

What a fabulous opportunity—you go girl!
I love that you take a scarf with you—I find the plane & airports always chilly!!

hey jodie!
airports and planes are the coldest spots on the planet. i’m happy to hear i’m not the only one who plans ahead and brings along a shawl. i had a ball participating with a panel that represented eight countries. lots of great ideas are in the marketplace for the aging woman. finally!
xoxo
Wow! So glad that you are doing this! We, women need your spirit and knowledge, Betsy? Also, that shirt color near your face makes you glow.
thanks, linda! it was a fantastic opportunity. and i’m thrilled major brands are interested in the aging woman. we baby boomers are pushing back the barriers that once existed.

So exciting! Can’t wait to see the BTS on Snapchat and Instastories! Safe travels!
hi allie! i wish i could have shared more on snapchat but most of my behind the scenes was confidential material. but eight countries were represented on the panel and lots of great ideas are in the marketplace. it’s a great day to be a woman.

How exciting! Have a ball. You’ll do America proud.
hi you! it was a fantastic opportunity to share my thoughts on age. there were eight countries participating in the think tank. so a broad spectrum of ideas were bandied about by talented and smart men and women.

I know you are leaving from GA( I am in SC) where it feels like endless summer this year but I am surprised at the choice of light colored pants and shoes for travel. Airports, etc are grimey! I prefer the blanket scarf outfit.
That said ,what an opportunity! Love London
hi bonnie!
there’s no doubt how grimy airports and airplanes are. the first thing i always do after i unpack is head to the shower. but i’ve never had a problem traveling in lighter clothes. for years, when i headed back to asia after a summer spent in the usa my travel uniform was white denim, black tee, black blazer, and black pointy-toed sling-backs. but isn’t it wonderful everyone has a different take on their travel attire? i love choices.
