as our thanksgiving weekend drew to an end we zipped down to atlanta to drop christian back home. the child has decided to save the environment by not owning a car and skateboarding to work… of course, his parents are putting a dent in the ozone layer with 120 miles round trip. but we squeezed in brunch at one of our favorite spots – folk art – featured on diners drive-ins and dives that serve mouth-watering southern fare with a modern twist. and, there were a few returns to be made from on-line purchases gone awry. all-in-all it was a productive day even if i was sad to bid christian and our holiday weekend adieu.
the temps were brisk today here in georgia. so out came my suede jacket and blanket scarf to chase the chill away. but when it comes to warmth nothing trumps a cashmere sweater. one reason i why i try to add at least one to my collection each season.
since i’ll be on the move today, blue jeans and flats are a perfect choice. if only it were as easy a decision on what to order at folk art. there were so many choices. and one more delicious than the other. i finally settled on the salmon plate and wasn’t sorry one bit. mr. style chose the folk southern fried served with the most delicious biscuits i’ve ever tasted. and christian decided a steak sandwich might fill his tank up. at least until he returned home.
can you believe monday’s knocking on our door?! make it a good one.

Love this! I’m looking at all the details…the trim on the gloves, the detailing on the bag, the sunnies, the necklace… Seeing your jeans reminds me I have some to alter…oy… xoxo
then get thee to a tailor! that’s an order. there’s nothing like wearing a pair of my favorite jeans.

Perfect fall colour palette, Beth. Love that orange…or is it coral?… or salmon?…with the brown suede jacket and the brown bag. Up here in Ottawa, I’d have to swap out the flats for boots, since the early snow fall we had just doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to melt away.
don’t you love orange and brown? it’s a color combo taken directly from mother nature. and i love it! when we lived in minnesota i always felt blessed if the snow didn’t fly until after thanksgiving… oh winter. i love it until january 1st…

Wonderful fall colors. I waited to see if that suede jacket would go on sale, and it did,…but unfortunately not in my size. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be. I’ll enjoy it on you! 😉 You look great!
I’m in love with the blanket scarves–and wore them all last winter when it was cold–they feel soooo good.
rats! but i’m with you – it wasn’t meant to be. but it is the perfect coat for our georgia climate.
isn’t a blanket scarf perfect for those cold winter days? perfect in every way! btw your family is absolutely adorable! thanks for sharing their photo. it’s so nice to have a glimpse into your life.

Love the colors. Don’t you have cold on your feet? Once I start wearing boots can’t return to shoes and never without socks.
i am so weird when it comes to socks and stockings. after living in a tropical climate for over a decade i’ve had a hard time adjusting back to these two particular items. thank goodness georgia has a moderate climate and on most days i can get away with sans socks.

Marvellous blanket scarf, these look so chic and most important: with a purpose.
form and function go hand in hand, don’t they?
