in the navy
it wouldn’t be a vacation if a little shopping weren’t squeezed in. luckily, savannah is only a hop, skip, and jump away from hilton head. what a charming city that’s easy to navigate on foot with a park located on every street. or so it seemed. so i pulled on an adorable pair of gingham (yes, gingham) tennies that were perfect for traipsing up and down the city streets. the temps were a glorious 75 degrees with no humidity to speak of and plenty of sunshine overhead. with that in mind, i decided a tie-dyed lightweight linen sweater would keep me warm and stylish. this navy sweater would look fab with white denim or chinos, but i chose white shorts with a scalloped hem instead. and what’s the perfect handbag on a sunny day? well, this woven wicker bag comes pretty darn close. the strap is long enough for this cute bag to convert to a crossbody bag which is a plus when playing tourist. can you say fun day? ‘cuz it certainly was!

This is definitely a cute summer look! I think the gingham tennies steal the show. The wicker bag is perfect for a day of playing tourist. The pink one is cute too…don’t you need another bag? ha! Wish I still had some of the woven wicker and straw handbags from years past. Such a fun summer accessory… xoxo
gingham is such a spring/summer staple that these tennies just had to come home with me! and they’re super comfy to wear. you just might be seeing these again, donna.

Ahhhh–navy and white–so fresh and timeless. I’d seen those scalloped shorts–they’re perfect, and the white will go with absolutely everything! What a great look, and so comfy. You’re literally a walking Talbots commercial.
i think hilton head/savannah is on our yearly to-do list! and it’s such an easy drive from athens, why not? yup, no alligator sightings. not one…
