there’s some fun in the sun this week as mr. style and i spent a long weekend in hilton head, s.c. what a much needed vacay. but we did sneak a few photos of my ootd’s because, well, you can’t miss this gorgeous landscape that was at our doorstep. needless to say, we had a ball, i slept in, ate some great seafood, walked the beach, read a book on the beach, and did a little shopping. now that’s my kind of vacation.
happy monday!

Cute dress and as always, your accessories are spot on! Sounds like a very restful retreat…the beach is so soothing. xoxo
we had such a lovely time, donna! the weather was absolutely perfect ` 75 degrees and no humidity.

Hilton Head is such a pretty place. Glad you got to chill there. I saw that dress–through you? or somewhere…anyway, it is perfect for a beach getaway. Looks like the weather was as inviting as ours was this weekend. Something about waves rolling in endlessly that sends good endorphins through us all!
i didn’t see any alligators, sue! what a relief. but i absolutely love this part of the world. it’s so beautiful.
and this is the first time i’ve worn this cute dress. although i did pick it up when we visited charleston.
xoxo
Lucky you! Hilton Head looks so beautiful. Your cute sundress reminds me of the shifts we used to wear in the late ’60s and early 70s. There is a fabulous exhibit at FIT in NYC on these types of clothes. I am not sure if you are familiar with Marimekko but they do very cute tops and dresses with fun prints as well.
i love marimekko! banana republic worked with them on a collab a few years ago and i snagged a cute pair of shorts that a mouse ate! i know, there was a mouse in our house (apartment) in san francisco we had this horrible super mouse that ate quite a few of my clothes just when i started blogging.
but marimekko also partnered with target last year and i snagged a few pillows for my porch.

Sounds F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! the outfit looks so fresh, sunny and comfortable. I hope you were wearing lots of sunscreen. We are headed South next week for Savannah, St. Augustine and then to my grandson’s graduation and I am planning my wardrobe. We are so looking forward to sun after this very chilly, wet spring in the North. Any ideas on what to pack?
if you haven’t been to savannah you will love that part of the world. it’s a little bit like charleston with charming streets filled with gorgeous architecture. not as many shops as charleston but there are a few. the temps should be in the 80’s so bring sun dresses, skirts, short sleeve tees or tops. tunics paired with pants are always comfy and chic. the south loves color so don’t be afraid to bring out your brightly colored clothes.
but definitely check the weather before you head out of town. i was so happy that i did because i knew the day would start with chilly temps – in the 50’s and i packed jeans and a cotton turtleneck so i could walk on the beach and not freeze my fanny off.
xoxo
We have been to Savannah and Tybee Island twice before and we love it so much that we are looking forward to going there again. Thanks for the tips on packing—I am having fun with the planning because I can wear summer things that it is too chilly to wear here in Michigan.
Any tips on where to shop or boutiques in Savannah?
The beach is my happy place. It’s so calming and destresses me. But I love “destress” you are wearing! It’s even more perfect in the fact that it has pockets! I saw the sandals at Target and they are cute as ever but are dangerous for a woman as clumsy as I am. I would find a way to trip over one of the pom poms!!
