what’s the best aspect of fall? hands down (at least fashion-wise) it’s the addition of leather and suede. years ago, thanks to a hand-me-down jacket from my mom, my love affair with suede began. to this day, i wish this smooth as butter jacket still hung in my closet. hopefully, some lucky soul stumbled upon it in the goodwill store, claiming it a ‘vintage’ find. after all, it hailed from the forties!
through the years, i’ve done my best to replicate mom’s simple but to-die-for button-up jacket. the latest rendition being a deep mochaccino brown from fall 2016. since the weather decided to cooperate with fall-like temps today it was finally time to haul this baby from storage. and what better blouse to pair it with than a classic equestrian silk blouse from ralph lauren? complete with bit and bridle. come to think of it, all during the eighties i sported a beautiful ralph lauren cardigan with suede panel insets. geez, maybe it’s time to go on a vintage shopping spree…

but there’s something to be said about slipping into comfortable clothes. it’s akin to eating comfort food. and really, what’s better than fall, fashion, and food to bring a smile to your face?
so i’m doing my bit on this fine autumn day with a pair of faded blue jeans, silk blouse, suede jacket and a pair of broken in loafers.
mr. style and i headed to buford for a last-minute errand before heading to NYC. if you happen to need lingerie in a hurry small town living is not for you. ‘cuz your favorite brands (wacoal or simone perele) just might not be available. c’est le vie! wacoal happens to offer beautiful shapewear these days. and guess who’s dress for thursday evening needed a slip?
are you ready for tuesday, gang? it’s here.

you can’t beat Ralph Lauren, especially with he uses Black watch plaid!! my favorite!
Delightful!!
Love this, all of it! Have a good trip to NYC. xoxo
Love the rich brown suede jacket, great handbag and blouse (the background of black watch plaid is one of my favorites!) I can never find beautiful brown clothing anymore in NYC. The stores neutrals are almost always black, grey and sometimes navy. Have a great visit to NYC – great walking weather this week!
Nothing is better than fall in suede!

Looks great–I have that jacket. I did find, though, that when I wore it with cream colored pants last fall, the color bled onto the pants! I was disappointed, but I still like it–I’ll just wear it with dark pants and skirts.
I really like this outfit! In my new Coldwatercreek catalog, there are several faux suede items including a plum one-button jacket. So pretty.
That blouse is superb, I figured it was either RL or Gucci when I saw the equestrian touch.
