this post brought to you by K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Parkland
many of you remember i zipped down to Florida last month. if you missed that post, please read it here. it was a jam-packed weekend where i had the opportunity to visit an active lifestyle community geared for those of us 55+ K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Parkland located in sunny Parkland, Florida. and let me repeat active lifestyle community because boy-oh-boy these residents are on the move!
for example, have any of you heard of pickleball? if you haven’t, you soon will as pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America. think of it as table tennis played on a court. the rules are simple, and the game is easy for beginners to pick up. the K. Hovnanian residents take advantage of their pickleball courts and equipment. there’s even a pro on staff to help ease the newbies into the game.
after an early morning visit to the pickleball court, i paid a visit to the sales office and chatted with the staff to get a feel of how K.Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Parkland homes are laid out on the master plan. it’s quite impressive to watch each development phase come to life with one elegant home after another built – 538 in all with walking and biking trails and 12 scenic lakes. at the heart of the community is a state of the art clubhouse. but i also had a chance to take a peek at all of the home design selections available to the homeowners. fun stuff like tile, flooring, knobs, and faucets.
time to relax and unwind at one of the open and airy model homes. there’s an option to build a private pool in the backyard. i’ll take one, please.
even if you have your private backyard oasis, there’s always the option to run down to the community pool to join friends for an active outdoor day. water aerobics, tossing a beach ball or just parking your tush on a chaise lounge for the afternoon. the choice is yours. but there’s nothing more refreshing than a dip in a tropical style pool.
what intrigued me the most about K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Parkland were the residents that are moving in one family at a time. i was curious to hear their thoughts about choosing to downsize and move to an active lifestyle community. what they wanted me to know was that most of them are still in the workforce, but they wanted the ease of a planned community that offered one story homes with space galore to entertain family and friends. plus, there were so many opportunities to make new friends with year-round activities and special events so that you can join in when you want.
tennis anyone? game. set. match.
how about a round of bocce ball?
there’s even a putting green. if i had grandchildren, we’d be working on our putts and perfecting our short game.
the 25,000 square foot state of the art clubhouse is impressive with a fitness center to help homeowners stay in shape. there’s also fun social spaces like a grand ballroom, virtual sports studio, card and billiard rooms, and an arts and crafts studio, as well as a commercial and demonstration kitchen.
K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Parkland is a dog-friendly community. oscar would love to make new friends!
after taking advantage of a rich lineup of indoor and outdoor amenities that are certain to provide an active lifestyle, it’s always nice to head home and regroup in the privacy of a gracious home.
after your batteries have recharged, it’s time to connect with friends over cocktails. and a special event like a classic car show. take a look at this ageless beauty that’s still going strong.
loved this 1950’s chevrolet!
as you can see there was never a dull moment during my stay in Parkland, Florida. it was great fun to visit K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Parkland 55+ active lifestyle community. let me be the first to assure you these residents are on the move whether they’re taking advantage of the world-class clubhouse, catching rays by the pool, playing pickleball, or just relaxing in the privacy of their home.
