Indian Summer Indoors or Out!! These waning days of summer are nostalgic…and so beautiful! We see the change of colors coming …in the flowers and the trees. Nature is sooo amazing…humbling, really. Makes me begin anew ~ with Fall to come!

The air is beginning to smell different!!
Eucalyptus, spice, mimosa, musk, and ouds are all inspirational to scent our homes, bodies and spirits. Fresh, fragrant ~ exotic…xoxo
Most of us could use a dose of calm, with or without a cup of tea, verre de vin or bubbly in hand! Scent is so relaxing…what is your favorite?
Charming candlelight or diffusers can subtly enhance the ambiance of our homes for the new season, as well as our mood.
Jo Malone London’s Townhouse candle collection is elegantly hand-poured with classic Georgian architectural bisque details to grace your cocktail tables or any special room. The Fig and Cassis and Green Tomato Vine are two of my very favorites as well as the charming Mimosa and Cardemom!
It is so wonderful to bring the outdoors in… don’t we all want to experience our gardens and their diverse greens year-round?
Let’s enjoy the last blooms of the season from a rosebush or hydrangea, clipping flowering branches or greens to grace our rooms, nightstands and tables. A single blossom is as lovely as an extravagant profusion!!
Arranging flowers can be quite therapeutic and relaxing…and of course, a wonderful creative expression!
It’s such fun to utilize vases and containers of every sort to enjoy such varied beauty, shapes and colors of the season. Pewter, silver and colored or clear glass new or antique mix lovingly together.
Foraging in cupboards for the perfect vessel also reminds us to enjoy the objects we have loved and collected on trips or have been gifted over the years.
Many have multiple uses throughout our everyday lives, not only for special occasions or flowers alone.
A silver urn can hold everything from makeup or calligraphy brushes, kitchen utensils, or feathers… to those special blooms from our gardens, flower market, grocer or corner stand!
Ice buckets can hold entire flowering plants, arrangement or fruit as well as the favorite Verve Clicquot!
I am fortunate enough to have a deck and “container garden” – and my San Francisco markets are full of asters, Gerber daisies, hydrangea, sunflowers, flowering lavender and so much more!
