spring has sprung, and if there is one thing that i know by now it’s the fact that our calendars are filling up quickly with graduations, bridal showers, baby showers, and yes, we’ve saved the date for not one but two weddings. so what to wear, what to wear? the lace dress i have on today is reminiscent of a dress that took me through my own bridal shower, and several weddings that coincided with mine. what i loved best besides the soft peach color was the simplicity of this lace dress that skimmed rather than hugged my frame. add a feminine scalloped hemline, and it’s a match made in heaven. the weather can be a bit unpredictable this time of year so a wrap is a must. one of my favorite go-to solutions is a scarf that doubles as a shawl. it’s sure to help keep the chill at bay if need be. a pair of high heels and my trusty pearls and i’m ready for any special occasion that comes my way this spring. keep in mind, if you arrive on time for the happy event and there happens to be two churches on opposite sides of the street be certain to double-check your invitation for the proper address. if you don’t, well then, let’s just say you might have to excuse yourself from the middle of the pew when the bride makes her entrance and you haven’t the faintest idea who she is! true story – although my husband and i patiently waited until the father-of-the bride had passed his beautiful daughter off to the groom. i’m certain bride and groom are still scratching their heads as to who signed their guestbook, Mr. & Mrs. Siamak Djalali, or why.

Beautiful and elegant outfit. I am not a big wearer of scarves or shawls but I loved the print on this one.
thank you, Rebecca! this scarf has such a cheerful print you can’t help but love it.

oh Annette,
you are a class act all the way! thank you for sweet words, and your support. so happy our paths have crossed through the blogsphere. the story was even funnier as i had assured my husband at least ten times
we were in the right church. he was suspicious from the beginning when we weren’t recognizing any of the guests, but of course i laughed it off by saying “we were sitting on the brides side of the church.”

Glad you mentioned this alternative to the tumblr site.
thanks, Maggie, for faithfully tuning in! this site is proving to be a wonderful challenge for me, but i think i’m getting the hang of all the behind the scenes ‘techie’ stuff. i even crashed my site yesterday, panicked, then put it back together! who says you can’t teach an ‘old dog new tricks.’

love this look on you! the scarf is a great color, and love that this is all from zara!
I’ve loved Zara ever since we lived abroad and it was the only store that carried my size. Amazing, affordable fashion!
Thanks for swinging by.
What a great story (a little embarrassing when it happens, but hilarious afterwards)!! You look marvelous, darling (insert accent here)!!! jodie

Love the look, BUT, unless you are MOB or MOG – you shouldn’t be wearing this color of dress to a wedding. I know some are going to say the scarf offsets the color of dress. Can you guarantee you will never take it off while attending the celebration? The colors of white and ivory are for the bride. Know it’s old fashion, but I would never disrepect the bride in this way.
Hi Deb,
I couldn’t agree with you more! The cor of the dress is peach, not ivory.
Hi Deb,
I agree! The color of the dress is actually peach – not ivory.
Oops!!! Did I miss the color peach somewhere? So sorry.
That is so funny!!!Did you make it to the other church on time??!!!
