Let’s explore and enjoy some of these citrus beauties together!! Pineapples, oranges, and grapefruits…so bountiful, so exotic during this time of year! Most of us are still close to home, so let’s travel another way!! Fruit has inspired our favorite and greatest International Artists and Masters…Cezanne, Matisse, Van Gogh,

David Hockney’s Newspaper Artwork: Two Apples, One Lemon and Four Flowers was published at the time of his major 1988 Retrospective at the Los Angeles Museum of Art. I am fortunate enough to have one!

As Director of Retail, our collaboration with his team was certainly one of the highlights of my career. Notecards, Posters, and Bags of his fabulous works were created with his blessing, benefiting the museum and his adoring fans. Many of his many books are available for your collection. xoxo

Hockney is a special love…so incredible and prolific! He lived in LA for many years and remains active, now living again in Europe…even created work during the pandemic for all the world to enjoy, “They can’t cancel Spring.” I have special memories – seeing him in his red convertible, with his beloved dachshund “Stanley,” nose hanging out catching the breeze, while DH was driving thru the Hollywood Hills!!

Andy Warhol’s Food Illustrations are fanciful and colorful, as are all his famous portraits, from Cows to Elizabeth Taylor – great fun!! Here’s a little Baked Hawaii for you! Warhol and David Hockney!!

As well as Art and Prints, I have always enjoyed Astrology and Horoscopes…not to live by – but be curious about and…as they say “if the shoe fits.” We recently entered Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22). I thought it would be fun to share some tidbits from Plants and Herbs of the Zodiac. Plants and Herbs for Your Zodiac Sign.

As we create charming, fun meals and get-togethers with friends and family, it is always beautiful to include colorful table settings and help-yourself beverage carts! Bubbly water or Lemonade with floating slices… Glasses rimmed with mint or basil are such pretty and lovely stirrers too! Try adding lots of ice and vodka; it is an MMK favorite! Dried or fresh fruit add color, taste, and fortify us!! A simple bowl…or pitcher – think Hockney and Cezanne!! Color and design…art at your table, in your life!
