oscar and i are taking a break from city life, and going rogue. so come join us as we head to the beach. while we may not be surfin’ u.s.a. we’re gonna have a fun summer day here in cali for ni a! we’ve got the sun shining overhead, and the waves crashing at our feet. we met a new friend, walked barefoot along the sandy beach. there’s something about the sand squishing between your toes and the sound of lapping water that puts you at ease. years ago, we lived on a tiny island by the name of guam and i had the privilege of being a beachcomber day-in-and day-out. sometimes this city girl (i don’t don’t when i converted seeing i’m originally from nebraska) craved the arts, but there’s something to be said about a sky lit up with a thousand stars, and watching the sun make its graceful exit into the ocean each night. if you’re lucky, you’ll catch a green flash (some of you might know what that is – the rest, well, you have google). but back to california – oscar loved the shoreline, but wasn’t convinced he wanted to attack the waves. with a little coaxing he decided it wasn’t such a bad gig to let the waves wash up around him. we happily hung out, enjoying the peace and serenity of the beach. isn’t it wonderful to have little slices of heaven find its way into your daily routine? oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend! wherever you may be. labels: sweater Old Navy (similar here); shorts JCrew (similar here); shoes Steve Madden (similar here)

I enjoy your blog, especially on Fridays. Oscar is a hoot! Really just commenting to say that we have a home on the island of Bonaire where we spend the winters and look for that green flash every night. People who have never seen it always think we’re making it up!
hi nina,
thanks for stopping by! i love to hear from my readers. isn’t it funny that people think the green flash is a myth? until they experience one for themselves! lucky you to have a home on Bonaire!
