sequin skirts + jean jacket = casual chic
it’s hard to believe another week has come and gone…but i’m happy to see friday arrive on my doorstep. the temps have been incredibly mild here in san francisco so i was more than happy to show off my pedicure with a pair of metallic sandals. i have no problem whatsoever with popping in to my local nail salon on a regular basis. it’s little treats like this that brighten my mood! this week with the encouragement of the manicure team i chose orange for my toes and pink for my nails which is odd for me because almost always my toes match my nails. with the gorgeous temps outside i decided a skirt would be perfect and i selected one with sequins. i know, i know, most of us think sequins should be reserved for more formal occasions. but if i have something hanging in my closet i certainly don’t want it collecting dust – i want to put it to use over-and-over. i feel the same way about my china and crystal and try to use both on a regular basis. sure, one of my waterford old fashions might get a chip, but i’ve had the pleasure of seeing something beautiful put to use. my mother was of the opposite opinion with her silver, china, and crystal making an appearance only on holidays or formal celebrations. she even had special soap and towels reserved for ‘guests only.’ i used to tease her that i’d have to bury the guest soap along with her because at the rate of a dinner party a month the soap was definitely going to outlast us all. dear lord! so i encourage you to view your closet in a new way, rethink, repurpose, wear what you have in different ways. what’s the worst that could happen? fashion is fun. or it should be.
anyway, i hope you all have a wonderful friday, and fabulous weekend!

Love your philosophy and I admire how you always look so pulled together. This is something I really have to work on, especially the at home clothes. I would definitely be embarrassed if the doorbell rang suddenly and I had to face the public!
