fridays with oscar
it’s fridays with oscar which means only one thing. another week has come and gone… but today is an exciting day for us. our sod is finally being laid in the backyard. oh, happy day! it has been a long process getting everything put together back there. first, we hemmed and hawed about removing a tree that was smack dab in the middle of the yard. but the shade it provided also prevented a lush landscape. i’m soo happy we decided to take it out. ‘cuz now we will have a beautiful yard for oscar to patrol. those pesky deers keep him on his toes!
while we’re waiting for the backyard to come to life, i thought i would haul out my fall decorations from last year. the front porch needed some love after irma’s gusty winds. i haven’t headed to the nursery yet for pumpkins, but that is on my to-do list that seems to grow by the minute!

the days have been cool enough for sweaters. and i’ve always been a sucker for a tennis sweater or collegiate sweater. it’s the prepster in me! no one does this sort of look better than the king of classics Ralph Lauren. did anyone catch is runway show? i know it was set to broadcast live. smart move! love the fact that he has shifted his sales model of showing a collection that’s immediately available for purchase. my oh, my are things changing in the fashion world.
since the weather is cool/warm, i pulled on a pair of bermudas and a trusty pair of ballet flats. this ootd will serve me well today as i dart between home projects and the inevitable nursery or target run. but i’m determined to get everything accomplished in record time today as i’d like to zip off to the movies with mr. style.
anyhoo, that’s a slice of life here in athens. as you can see, oscar is much more interested in being a goof and checking on the backyard rather than helping in the front. that poop! but i know he joins me in wishing each of you a lovely weekend wherever you are!

thanks, sweet friend! it’s been glorious with cooler temps this past week. but summer’s headed back. at least temp-wise. but fall has arrived at the djalali house.

well, the sod is in sue! and it looks fantastic. if you lived in town i would invite you over for a cocktail so we could enjoy watching the grass grow together!
