accessories can elevate any outfit. take a look at today’s ootd. i purposefully took off my scarf in photo #5 to give you an idea how one simple accessory can change the look of an outfit. can you see how the pattern in the scarf gives a nice pop to my sweater? and it’s on trend as pattern mixing is quite big these days. my pink straw handbag and pink suede ballet flats complete the look, giving the outfit a casual chic vibe. i may not be dressed for an evening at the opera, but this comfortable combo will take me to the mall, grocery store, or even a lunch date with my favorite photographer.

That great scarf really does top off the outfit perfectly. I recently read somewhere out here in blogland how important that third piece is for pulling things together. I’m pretty casual of a dresser so this outfit is right up my ally. It’s youthful and classy at the same time.
