Beth’s Summer Holiday Style

There’s something about a tiered cotton skirt that feels both nostalgic and modern, especially in jet black. I styled this Cotton Poplin Maxi Skirt with a simple Vintage Jersey White Tee for a laid-back foundation, then pulled everything together with Black Suede Sandals and a structured Black Belt.
For accessories, I kept things earthy and bold: a Multi-Strand Leather Cord Necklace adds a bit of drama, while Silver and Freshwater Pearl Earrings keep it classic. A perfect mix of softness and strength—just how I like it.

Kelly’s Summer Holiday Style
I love a dress that does the work for you, and this Gingham Smocked Abilene Midi Dress by Pomander Place at Tuckernuck is as easy as it gets. The smocked bodice gives shape without feeling tight, and the full skirt makes it feel festive and comfortable, especially for warm-weather gatherings. While I love this Tuckernuck brand for its breezy styles and affordability, they don’t carry petite sizes. Since I am only 5 feet tall, this Abilene Midi Dress is a maxi dress on me. However, altering it to shorten the length would be a cinch for my expert next-door neighbor tailor!

I kept things casual with a simple Leather Slide Sandal, perfect for walking the dog or relaxing with family. It’s a subtle nod to patriotic style that still feels pulled together.

With just a few ingredients and the option to skip the alcohol, it’s a crowd-pleasing mocktail that’s equal parts sweet and crisp. Fresh watermelon and mint bring the summer vibes, while lime adds the perfect zesty kick. We left out the rum for a family-friendly version, but you can easily customize it to your taste.

- 2 oz white rum optional
