have you ever had one of those days when no one is on the same page as you? even your best buddy? i’m fairly certain it’s one of those days. we’ve been dodging raindrops almost all week. always a challenge when your blog consists of a daily outfit. and it’s come to our attention that oscar hasn’t visited downtown in some time for a walk. well, guess who forgot how to behave on a city sidewalk? (it wasn’t me…)
oscar grew up in san francisco with daily walks around town. he was trained to walk on his leash like a gentleman. but lately, we’ve been sticking to walks around our quiet neighborhood. note to self, city streets and small town streets are completely different. so i’m making an appointment with a trainer to help oscar remember to mind his manners.
today’s walk was a gentle reminder that dog ownership is an ongoing responsibility. so it’s back to basics with leash training 101. right oscar?
but if you were paying attention you noticed that today’s ootd is far from basic. even if i’m wearing a pair of blue jeans. if you look closely, you will see that my outfit is on-trend from head-to-toe. gingham, a tried-and-true classic, is on fire this season and i couldn’t resist scooping up this latest rendition from the WhoWhatWear collection at Target.(yes, i went in for cotton balls and ended up with several unexpected items in my cart.) next is my latest obsession with cropped flares. this time i’m wearing high-waisted flares, and i think i’m in love. i’ve been a tad resistant about the whole mom jean trend, but this pair from Ann Taylor just work. ’nuff said. last but not least everyone and their sister is sporting a pair of mules or slides whether fancy schmancy or subtle and subdued like this black suede pair from Talbots. to top it all off, i even threw on seed bead tassel earrings to complete this trend train look. but i like it, i really like it! and on a day that’s had an auspicious start, i’ll take it.
okay ladies, even if oscar has been a bit naughty this morning he’d like to wish each of you a lovely weekend. and so would i!

LOL about Oscars manners. Around Denver everyone/everywhere carries plastic doggie bags for just such Oppppp’s. He looks like alot of fun. I love the blouse. I just may have to stop by Target on the way home. I have a graduation party to go to tomorrow and I know just how I could style it. Have a good weekend Beth & Oscar.
The gingham top is pretty–looks like you could dress that up with skirts and dressier pants, (white or black, etc, too) I bet it will be versatile! And I like those jeans–you know, I have tried the mom jeans, and when I wore them, go figure– I got compliments I never ever get with other jeans. I think it might be because I have a small waist, but you can’t always tell that, from the way lower-fitting jeans fit me, especially if I tuck tops in. Must be the way my body’s built, but evidently I do ok in mom jeans. (I don’t know if that’s good or bad! haaaaa)
Oscar’s getting into the suburban life, I guess. It’s great that he can have a bit of both worlds. Lucky dog! Happy weekend.
Oh, this reminds me of my early teen years, gingham and all. Love the high-waisted jeans, which define and show off narrow waists. Also love flares!
Cute gingham blouse! The jeans look fab on you…show off all your hard work at the gym… Does Oscar need a little continuing education? My Chis do not like to walk on a leash…good thing we have a privacy fence. Have a splendid weekend…Happy Father’s Day to Mr Style! xoxo
I hope Oscar gets to run off leash somewhere and get his energy out – asking him to act like a human is hard on him unless he gets to act like a dog sometimes, which means getting dirty and running/playing his heart out! More education and structure might be just what Oscar doesn’t need : ).
Your style is stunning.

Oscar looks like a perfect gentleman in these photos LOL! You look so pretty in this outfit. I love the gingham blouse and could see how it will work in so many ways this summer
Love your top!
