Welcome Autumn – our new season of comfort and new beginnings! Colorful, Cool, and Cozy!!
We enjoy visions of Fall and the Holidays to come…simply unbelievable that October is days away!! For our color palettes, change and textures too: warm, soft caramels, wheat, colorful pumpkin, golds and teals in luscious velvets, furs, classic herringbones, and tweeds, chic leather, rattan, feathers,
alpaca, and cashmere to wear or nurture us in our homes! Seasonal shifts…make life everchanging fun! Enjoy!!
Each year our Harvest Moon ushers in this special time… Since ancient times, the fall equinox has been a day of cultural celebrations! How perfect!
This year – Wednesday, September 22 – starts Fall in the Northern Hemisphere. Let’s Celebrate!!
Acorns and leaves…olives, pears, grapes, and wine…even our menus change!! Nature abounds!! Turkey, sage, pecans, walnuts, honey, and cheese! Yum…
This time of year reminds me of the first week in high school Biology class. The assignment was to collect Leaves for an Album…to learn, identify and label these little marvels of nature. They have inspired me and the fabulous talents of designers Michael Aram, Thomas O’Brien, Annieglass, and, of course, Bunny Williams!
After the autumnal equinox, days become shorter than nights. The Sun rises later, and nightfall arrives earlier…until December solstice when days start to grow longer once again. Light changes… Might a Feathered LED pendant light be modern, joyful, and ethereal fun in a special room?? Candles also change the mood…to warm the mood and scent a charming fall evening.
Jo Malone’s beautiful, warm Poppy and Barley Collection is a delightful, inviting scent. A “living landscape: where colorful poppies emblazon the rich gold harvest” – Quite chic for you and your Bathroom too!
Wishing you joy these first glorious Autumn days and the last of our special September… till next Saturday! Cheers!! xoxo MMK
