Happy Tuesday, ladies! It's been a big year on the blog, full of changes. From our website redesign to the addition of new features like Style Tips and Alternative Stylings, SAACA continues to grow and change. The future of Style at a Certain Age looks bright.
It's hard to believe t's been six months since my daughter-in-law, Kelly, joined the blog. She's grown and expanded our content and taken us in a variety of new directions. She brings a much-needed perspective on style---a petite one. And if you don't regularly follow her food column, Kelly's Kitchen, you are truly missing out. Very few chefs I know make cooking as accessible as her.
At its core, Style at a Certain Age's mission is to help women age with grace, strength, and beauty. To that end, we're always looking to add to the blog, not subtract. Whether that's bringing on new contributors like Kelly (our 40s contributor), Marlene (our home design contributor), and Jennifer (our beauty and makeup contributor), or expanding our content into new domains, we're going to do it. SAACA's goal has been and continues to build a community for women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond. When I started the blog seven years ago, all bloggers/influencers would admit was an ambiguous "over 40 fashion," although I was happy to claim my age (and gray hair) of 56 or 57 at the time. Recently, a popular blogger in her forties (I think she recently hit 50) admitted she shied away from sharing her age because the "influencer" industry skewed younger. She didn't want to emphasize how "old" she was and felt intense pressure. Guess what? Now she's proudly sharing her age. We've come a long way, baby! Yet, there's still room to grow because, let's face it, some of us think we turn to dust at a certain age, feel invisible, or have just given up. But Style at a Certain Age is here to change perceptions about aging every step of the way from style to beauty to travel and anything and everything in between.
And with that, it has to be said---we're beyond thankful to you, our supporters. We're committed to bringing you the same great content you've come to expect. Again, the future of Style at a Certain Age is bright.
Today we're celebrating Kelly's 6 month anniversary on the blog and talking the future of Style at a Certain Age

Thanks for all that you do Beth, Kelly and the rest of the contributors. I really appreciate it .. I am 66 and hate to spend a ton of money on clothes …you all remind me that I don’t need to do that to keep looking fashionable as I age ….gracefully I hope! And yes, Kelly .. I always need cooking inspiration!
Thanks again for all that you do. Betsy

Also, I am older than you but certainly relate completely, AND I’m also petite, so Kelly’s take on things is always welcome. My favorite post is still Friday’s. I love “being at home” with you.
Thanks a lot!

I share your thoughts on aging and appreciate the honesty and positivity you express. I commend you for continuing during the pandemic and through your grief, and modeling “life does go on” through family, fashion, and food. Your willingness to share yourself, your home, your Oscar, and your travels is an example to all of us to stay connected and open for our futures.
Thanks, Mary Lou. I so appreciate you being here!
Thank you from the bottom of my heat, Beth, for starting an age related blog. A person should never be restricted because of age, or ability, from enjoying what life has to offer, with self respect and dignity. Because of my psoriasis, i needed to stop colouring my hair. The support i got from watching you, and an beautiful, elegant MOA at my salon, rock your silver manes, pulled me through. I have since, because of your mentoring, inspired most of my friends to embrace aging gracefully. I respect those who chose to keep colouring- their life, their dignity.
It is so wonderful to see you and Kelly having fun together. You are both very fortunate to have each other and the obvious bond you share. Happy anniversary to Kelly!
Thanks, Andrea. We so appreciate you being here!
