Happy Tuesday, ladies! A lot of you have noticed that I recently painted the exterior of my house. So... I thought I'd use today as an opportunity to show you---as well as my Southern porch and patios.
This is somewhat of a mega-post today---a lot of pictures to show you: 1 porch, 2 patios, and 2 outfits perfect for Spring & Summer. So, I'm going to keep it short and let the pictures do the talking.
Let's get to the tour.
Today's featured items are black shorts from Ann Taylor and jean shorts from Talbots
Each item is modeled, and I pulled together 2 alternates each, for a total of 4
The shorts are shoppable via a text or image widget
Each alternate is shoppable via a text widget
I've pulled together tons of gardening tools I use, all from Amazon, and all presented in a text widget
I added some gardening tips I've picked up along the way
Black shorts (Ann Taylor) | White shirt (Ann Taylor) | Cap toe espadrilles (Tory Burch) (old, similar here and here)
(that's visually pleasing w/ varying height)
Thriller plants with a height that add drama and vertical interest. Planted in the back of the center of the pot (Dracena, Asters, Cosmos)
Filler adds color and volume and placed in center of pot (Geraniums, Mexican Heather, Petunias, Daisies)
Spiller are trailing plants that spill over the container (Ivy, Vinca, Creeping Jenny)
Jean shorts (Talbots) | Gingham blouse (Ralph Lauren, old, similar here and here) | Gardening clogs (Amazon)
Once your containers have been planted add Plant tone organic fertilizer
Deadhead flowers once the bloom is spent
Yellow leaves? Too much water or not enough
If your pots are located where rain doesn’t fall then place them in the rain when a storm blows through. Plants perk up and look healthier after being watered by rain.
Yesterday, I featured one of your favorite items this month---a shift dress from Talbots. Make sure to check it out by clicking the link or image below.

Looks fantastic! Love what you did with the black and white and then adding a little green to the house out front. Everything looks so delightful and inviting!
Hi Beth, well done everything looks lovely you have it laid out so nice with the panters and furniture.
Regards Julie
enjoyed this post! Your house/patio look great … and of course gravitate to the fashion. I just bought the Talbots girlfriend denim shorts in bluff rinse. So comfortable and flattering (I’m petite 5’3″).
So beautiful and fresh! Love the black and white theme , with the pops of color !
Wow! Everything looks GORGEOUS! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for the tour , Beth of your lovely home and yard! You’ve given me quite a few great ideas for my deck. I love your style of fashion of course, and I’m really enjoying how you style and share your home and yard.
Beautiful outdoor spaces! I love a porch with rockers. Rocking with a breeze blowing & the birds singing is such a wonderful way to relax.
You have a lovely home. You have done such a wonderful job of decorating your home inside and out.,
Oh, my what a wonderful relaxing spot. Your back yard looks wonderful. You’ve done a tremendous job.
Enjoy it for the next three seasons.

I love the painted brick…really updates the look. Our house was built in the late 60’s, and we painted it a creamy white. We love it! I like the dark shorts with the crisp white blouse above. I’m spending the next few days in Charleston with my daughter, and you have inspired me to include this look in what I pack . I purchased a longer, patterned pair of shorts from Talbots last year that will look good with a nice white blouse. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love this post. Where did you get those bunnies!
Everything is lovely. I also like the bunnies.
the bunnies are from GrandinRoad. there are similar bunnies available but not the exact ones on my porch.
Hi Beth; Do you think that you and Kelly could do a try on together so that I could see her in some of the clothes you wear!
