if you have been following my blog for any length of time you know i gravitate toward the classics. and a black pencil skirt is one such item. mainly because there are so many options afforded when an outfit is built on a black skirt. another classic that i love and always try to keep on hand is a pair of spectator pumps which is constructed from two contrasting colors. typically, the toe and heel cap are in a darker color than the main shoe. these shoes look great with skirts or pants, and give an outfit a little extra oomph. and if oomph is what i’m going for, a blouse with a fun pattern or pop of color is just the ticket. this particular blouse i have on for today’s ootd not only has a jazzy giraffe print, but is quilted to boot. anytime texture is brought in it acts as another layer of color. a few simple baubles, a black handbag, and this outfit can take me from the desk to dinner with ease.
