Hello, Happy Thursday! It’s about this time in February, in Athens, Georgia that I start to turn my gaze toward spring. When I look out my window I see daffodils blooming, the buds on the Tulip Magnolias stud the bare branches like amethyst jewels. Our resident chipmunks are out and about. Plus, it’s hard to ignore all the Spring Collection emails from my favorite brands.
Today I am sharing my picks for a Spring Capsule Wardrobe for Petites. My strategy here is to go with colors and prints that I know will still work with what I have in rotation for winter. Because while the early bloomers may be showing off, I know we will have some chilly, rainy days ahead.
So, I have selected a few pieces in bright, bold colors knowing that these pieces can work as a capsule, but will also work with many other pieces in my closet.

I focused more on punchy color and a bold stripe for this top collection. I love pairing a bright color with a neutral. For instance, I love the combination of the Lemon Sorbet Fisherman Sweater with the ecru jeans, navy trousers and the drab green utility pants.
A good variety of styles is always a good idea for a capsule wardrobe. Here, I have collected a mix of bottoms that can go casual or dressy, depending on the shoes, outerwear and accessories.
Again, variety in neutrals is key for mixing and matching shoes with outfit combinations. I am a sucker for loafers and I love the new Winona Penny Loafers in Italian Linen from J.Crew. Also, the canvas Cariuma Canvas Sneakers are so much fun in the color collaboration with Pantone.
Light-colored outerwear will lighten up any outfit and I love all the lighter tones available this spring. A variety of styles in creams, ecru and white will easily pair with my outfits. The one exception, color-wise is the Cropped Barn Jacket from J.Crew. I love this jacket for its deep moss green color, it’s lightweight but it has a workwear look to it that feels classic and modern at the same time.
I have put together a few combinations of these pieces for four different outfits. Each outfit is shoppable via text and image widgets.
