Perfect Summer Pants

Happy Thursday! I featured these Chinoiserie Toile pants from J.McLaughlin last week on Fridays with Oscar; then I wore the matching top. Today, I am mixing it up and pairing these Perfect Summer Pants with another perfect summer style, the Rumpled Satin Blouse from Vince Camuto at Nordstrom. Today’s outfit is a perfect example of the versatility of matching separates!

I absolutely love the Carmel Pants. These are the Chinoiserie Toile print, but they also come in navy, black, jacquard navy, and a very cute coral and navy geo print. I do love the toile print, it’s what drew me to them in the first place, and after wearing them several times I fell in love with their fit, feel, and incredible comfort.

They fit true to size, I am wearing XS. They don’t come in petite so I did get them hemmed a few inches so they hit right at my ankle. The only pocket is a little tiny zipper pocket just below the waistband.

All last summer, I sang the praises of the Rumpled Satin Blouse. It’s back at Nordstrom, though this denim blue color is not part of the offering this season. But I remember more colors were added throughout the summer. This top is so easy to wear, wash and care for – it travels perfectly and goes with everything. It’s one of those pieces to buy multiple colors!

The Gabi Asymmetric-Strap Slide Sandal is a new flat sandal style from Madewell. Usually, I get a new pair of their flat sandals every year, in a new style. This year, I went for these strappy slides, they’re comfortable and easy to wear. These are the slides you will reach for all summer because they go so well with nearly everything.

And of course, a straw bag is my constant go-to all summer. If I am wearing a casual ensemble, this straw bag is the one I always reach for. It’s a perfect everyday, all-purpose tote for summer. This one is many years old, from J.Crew, but there is a similar version here: Similar Straw Bag.
