day 1 of nyfw was jam-packed, but fun. if you are following me over on snapchat we can both agree my photography game needs to be upped. where is mr. style when i need him? my son would glance over at my phone every once in awhile and give an eyeroll… but i’m determined to focus on my skills today as i’m backstage where all the action happens. needless to say, when you’re in new york there’s bound to be a cocktail party to attend. today’s ootd is all about an after five look. so out come the ruffles, silk, and metallic accessories. but i couldn’t resist throwing a blazer on to keep the overall look tailored. and since block heels are so on-trend i hauled out a pair of ferragamo’s from storage. don’t you just love it when a trend comes back in a big way?!
happy tuesday!

What a fantastic look. Love how you incorporated the jacket!
Pretty, Beth! I have a simple, creamy white silk dress with a ruffled skirt like this, and a black ruffled skirt, and they both make me feel oh so feminine.
I would never have thought to match it with that jacket but it looks great! sue
What a gorgeous skirt, love the colour and the ruffles.
this is such a fun and flirty skirt. it’s always fun to pull out a feminine piece, but then pair it with its masculine counterpart.

What a dynamite combination! Brenda
Great cocktail hour look!
Sounds like you have having a great time at NYFW!!! 🙂
