no one does denim better than j.crew. from toothpick jeans to cropped to boyfriend to shirts, jackets, and denim skirts there’s plenty of choices to be found at my favorite preppy retailer.

for a parisian twist, i added a striped tee underneath my dress for a pop of color. but today’s ootd is polished off in typical french style with a cute paisley bandana. french women are known for adding just the right accessory whether it’s a bold red lip or the right footwear.
red shoes and red backpack are the perfect accessories for this simple outfit as they give it the one two punch it needed.
mr. style is back home after a fun but hot weekend spent in charlotte, n.c.. and we still have andrew with us until thursday when he zips back to nyc. this summer our kiddos have been in and out of athens quite frequently. guess who enjoyed every minute?! but summer is drawing to a close and it’s back to work for this girl.
my blog schedule is already filling to the brim with some exciting projects. and our home design projects are plugging along both inside and out. in the meantime, i’m going to savor these hot summer days that are fleeting.
is it time for a cafe au lait? better yet, a glass of cabernet. it’s five o’clock somewhere in the world. or it should be. happy tuesday, ladies!

isn’t NYC the best city to visit?! i typically bop up about four times a year. it’s an easy flight from atlanta. it’s particularly beautiful in the fall.

love the pops of red here. I have a couple of popover shorter tops, not dresses, just like this style, though, from j crew, and I love them–so comfy. Looks charmante! Enjoy these last halcyon days of summer!
i don’t know why but i have particularly enjoyed this summer. i’m hanging on to every last minute that’s for sure. but fall is fast on summer’s heels. and, really, who doesn’t love cooler temps and apple cider and football games?! hope all is well with you.

I have almost the exact same denim dress and love it! But I never thought to layer a tee under it. What a great idea! Also love the pops of red!
red always brightens any outfit. and i think of my red shoes as neutrals these days. they seem to go with everything!
