it’s boot season and there are lots of choices this year. today, i’m sporting a pair of suede over the knee boots. but this winter you’ll find velvet boots. take a look at this casual pair. love patterns? patterned boots are on trend as are studded boots or grommets. who remembers go-go boots that were popular during the swinging sixties? yes, i owned a pair that i wore with a pleated skirt and iowa hawkey sweatshirt… guess what? white boots are back but in a sophisticated way. how about patent leather boots? you’ll find those in stock this year as well as sock boots. check out jeffrey campbell and marc fisher if you’re dipping one toe into trend waters. these are brands that won’t break the bank.
every season i add at least one pair of boots into my collection. maybe two or three if i’m lucky enough to score a pair on sale. sometimes, my size goes quickly so it’s always a waiting game for me. and i do love the over the knee trend so it was a no-brainer to scoop up this pair by linea paolo.
today, i’m wearing a denim skirt from loft (who extended cyber monday sales) similar here and popped a chunky sweater (sold out) similar here over the top. the temps have been hovering in the sixties during the day and forties/fifties at night so an extra layer is a must. a wonderful option in lieu of a coat is a ruana or poncho. what’s the difference you ask? technically, a poncho glides over your head and a ruana wraps around your arms with a slit down the front. either one is perfect for a chilly. take a look at this wrap or this one.

I’m so glad to see you embracing the OTK boots too, Beth!! I think they are fabulous for any woman. In fact, the 3 of us just wore them on the blog a couple of weeks ago!!

hi jodie! i’ve been wearing otk for several seasons. both black and brown are in my collection so it was time to add a bolder color. isn’t it great there’s no expiration date for style?
xo
I have my OTK boots on today–but love the red! I saw a gorgeous rich dark blue last year that I coveted, but didn’t buy. The red is perfect with the shawl and bag. Those are great!
oooh the blue sounds divine! but i am so happy i broke down and added this gorgeous burgundy to my closet. just love this color. xo
Love that last sentence of your reply to Jodie about style having no expiration date! I think these OTK red suede boots are gorgeous and you have styled them so well.
thanks my sweet friend! but it’s true – style has no expiration date. and aren’t we glad?
xo
I’m very short so those boots would be thigh high on me but the color is gorgeous!
I love that sweater, too!
i’ve never figured out why there isn’t a petite section for boots! someone needs to work on that.
xo
Hey Beth! I follow you on Instagram and your blog! I agree with you about the petite section for boots!
You have convinced me Beth that I am never too old for style! Thank you 🙂 I have been longing for OTK boots for ages but thought I was too old. I am 57. You look stunning in them. It’s off to the shops I go !!
awww, that warms my heart karen! and you’re right, there is no expiration date on style. good luck with boot shopping. i know there’s a pair for you.
