summer is all about easy-breezy outfits. and a blue linen blazer, white tee, and blue jeans (old, similar here) fit the bill. add a snazzy handbag and kitten heel sandals (old, similar here) and this ootd will take you anywhere in style.

if you have followed the blog for any length of time y’all know how much i love blazers! the trend this year for blazers is over-sized. think borrowed from the boys. and i think i like it. the style reminds me of boyfriend jeans that have a looser fit and are oh-so-comfy to wear. blazers are the perfect third piece any time of year. a blazer is always part of my style uniform that i lovingly refer to as the 4 B’s – blazer, button-down, blue jeans and ballet flats. and everyone needs a style uniform. one outfit that you can easily throw together on those days you have no idea what to wear. this post talks in-depth about how i break down my style uniform and tweak it from time to time.

today i’m wearing a blue linen blazer from a favorite brand of mine known for their simple classic style. not only does Everlane have this blue linen blazer in stock (although the sizes are limited) but it comes in bone and black. but if you’re already thinking fall classics i love, love, love this grey herringbone blazer or this glen plaid blazer.

this Rebecca Minkoff handbag was purchased specifically for an event i attended in atlanta. check out my post about Global Runway to see how this handbag complemented an evening look. but it also looks at ease paired with blue jeans. Rebecca Minkoff handbags are well made, reasonably priced, and always on-trend. luxury retailers like Neiman’s, Bloomies, and Nordstrom carry Rebecca Minkoff handbags. but i just discovered Amazon does too! recently, i purchased a Jody Croc Embossed Circle Crossbody Handbag from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. i can’t wait to break it out come fall.

Nice jacket! And it looks like it’s well made, too. I like to have some slimmer-fit and/or tailored jackets along with some looser and more casual fits. This one has good lines. And I personally love the longer length. You look great.

This outfit is a bit less ‘preppy’ than your usual and I really like it. (It’s much more the way I commonly dress.) Although temperatures are too high for a blazer right now in Northern California, I look forward to the cooler days of fall and putting together a similar look. Thank you and God bless as you continue with your fun and helpful blog!

Welcome back Beth – we’ve missed you! I’m sure you’ve been on all our minds. God love and bless you and you’re boys! You have been in my prayers!

I love this OOTD! I agree with Lin T. above – a bit more how I dress (I work in my husbands company which is a building supply company around all guys and little chance to dress up – BUT, i STILL like to see your dressier versions of OOTD too!)

    Much love to you!

Really like this basic, polished, and easy ootd that will look great on everyone. Unfortunately, the blazer is sold out in my size. I was ready to scoop it up! Beth, I need a suggestion for a white tee with either short or three-quarter length sleeves that is a thick enough weave that it won’t show my bra through it or the bit of fat bulge between my bra and pant waist. Some of the cotton tees are too thin and clingy and make me feel self conscious particularly since I’m a big busted gal. Help!

That shade of blue looks great on you, very flattering. I love blazers too, last spring I found a couple of great ones at a nice thrift store in my town. I love when I find something stylish that I don’t have to spend much for! It’s almost Friday!!

Beth, you are beautiful inside and out. I love this look. As a 68 yr. old, I love to wear youthful clothing with a classic twist. I retired from a conservative profession, and I am now enjoying a more relaxed wardrobe. You are in my thoughts. I still get choked up thinking about your loss. You have inspired me to enjoy every day I have with my husband even more. Leaving for Italy in 2 weeks with our family!!

It’s so nice to have you back, Beth. I hope you are doing OK.

I waited too long and didn’t find much at the Nordstrom sale this year, but hit the jackpot at Talbot’s. I need petites, and Talbot’s has them in abundance. Madewell had a good sale too, but not all the clothes are sized to fit me. I ordered my first pair of Rothy’s. I hope they live up to their reputation for comfy footwear.

Yum. I’m going to try the sheet pan recipe this weekend.
