easter sunday is fast on our heels, ladies. maybe i don’t have an easter bonnet this year, but i do have a snazzy new dress. who else goes shopping for easter dresses? this has been a habit of mine since a young girl. like clockwork every year my mother would grab my hand one saturday morning. voila, our mother-daughter ritual to score the perfect dress would commence. can anyone relate? growing up in omaha there was a children’s boutique by the name of rebecca’s we would frequent when special occasions rolled around like easter or christmas. what fun it was to pile into my mother’s convertible, tie a scarf around my head, and make certain i didn’t forget my handbag. it was always a grand day to go on shopping spree with my mother which included a ladies lunch complete with a chocolate coke. and those pesky brothers of mine had to stay home although i’m fairly certain they were relieved. this was a ‘girls only’ day that i looked forward to every easter.
this year i stumbled upon a brand i had quite forgotten about – karl lagerfeld paris. yes, the head designer of chanel has his own, might i add affordable, clothing line. and it’s available at dillard’s. who knew? for those of you who have never heard of dillard’s, it is a regional department store located in the southeast and southwest. when we lived in houston, i regularly shopped there. now, i’m happy to become reacquainted with this chain.
and look what i found! a tweed dress in a beautiful shade of green. similar here and here. there’s even fringe around the sleeves and neckline. this timeless dress will take me oodles of places all spring and summer. if you don’t like to bare your arms just add a cardigan or blazer. even an oversized scarf would suffice. but i’ve rounded up a variety of karl lagerfeld paris dresses with sleeves, pattern, no pattern for a mini-shopping spree of your own. i’m quite impressed with this line. mr. style has known about karl lagerfeld for years. when he lived in vienna, there was a lagerfeld boutique where he bought all his suits. and he favored lagerfeld cologne for years. let me tell you, this man knows his fragrances.
