it’s time to get my working wardrobe brushed off. what better day to spring a nine-to-five outfit into action than monday? it looks as if i won’t be singing those monday blues today but rather black and gray.
it’s monday morning gang. who’s ready to start the week? after a thoroughly enjoyable weekend, i just might be ready to hit the floor running. thank you so much for the birthday love you sent my way. it’s safe to say this year is off to a grand start.

whatever the reason, through the years my birthday always signaled the end of summer. as a young girl growing up the school year commenced a mere one week after the b-day festivities and i more or less go with a school year calendar to this day.
and my schedule is quite hectic over the next quarter with two trips up north already in the works. it’s time to get my working wardrobe brushed off. what better day to spring a nine-to-five outfit into action than monday? it looks as if i won’t be singing those monday blues today but rather black and gray.
silk is a beautiful fabric that works any time of year. but silk transitions the seasons particularly well. and nothing beats a hard working silk dress. they’re chic, sophisticated and office appropriate. plus, dresses are so easy to accessorize. it’s one and done and out the door in no time. this dress by tracy reese similar designer dresses here will see some action this fall as silk packs in a suitcase particularly well. similar silk dresses linked here, here, and here.
suede vince camuto pumps scored at the nordstrom anniversary sale will also be seeing lots of action this fall due to their neutral color. but this gray suede handbag from Clarison just might steal the show with its subtle sophistication. the long strap makes it easy to toss over my shoulder when navigating city streets while the short handle gives it structure and adds the spit and polish needed for a working wardrobe.
happy monday, ladies!

So glad you had a good birthday! Maybe you can squeeze out another celebration this week…ha! Great 9-5 look…silk would be very comfortable to wear for full, busy hours. The handbag really caught my eye…good looking and well styled. xoxo
What a great dress! I love everything about it: color, shape and pattern:). And of course great accessories as well. Renata xo
Lovely outfit and so well accessorized (as always, Beth)!
This easy, breezy look looks deceptively easy to put together, but you clearly put it together w/great care and the result is totally “soigné” as we say in French. The most stylish looks always look as if you just threw it together. Very chic
I love everything about everything you have on here, and thank you for not feeling the need to cover up your arms! Silk is indeed a great fabric, never not right. Wonderful work wear post.
Happy Belated Birthday Beth!
That’s a pretty dress, and those earrings are perfection with it. It’s so true about silk packing well–so lightweight and steams out easily with the help of the shower in a hotel bathroom on the road! Lovely look! And…pockets!! Always a win.
