what’s new at Nordstrom? well, to be honest, i never know quite how to answer that question since there are soooo many new items available at Nordstrom on any given day. that’s what i love about this retailer. they offer a plethora of brands to choose from as well as so many new items. it’s retail shopping at its best.
a one-stop shopping experience is a dream come true, especially when most of us are shopping online these days. Nordstrom has so many brands at their beck and call, new and old. while perusing their site, i stumbled upon a brand my mother, and i adored way back in the day – Amalfi. this is an Italian brand that produces top-notch shoes. when i spied Amalfi on Nordstrom, i couldn’t resist taking a peek at what they had to offer. honestly, more than one pair of shoes could have landed in my cart, but after much deliberation, i decided on a pair of black loafers.

now that i shared a brand that has a history with me let me share a brand that’s new to me – Scotch and Soda from Amsterdam. Scotch and Soda caters to men and women, boys and girls. let me be the first to tell you they have an amazing selection of clothes that unites original design with functionality. this is a brand after my own heart. a snowy white cable knit sweater with a blend of alpaca and wool is just what i needed to compliment black pants from Spanx that i scored at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last summer. let me assure you these pants have an amazing, flattering, and comfortable fit.

today’s ootd starts with a classic color combo – black and white. a neutral color scheme consists of black, white, gray, brown, and beige. neutrals never go out of style, are timeless, and can be paired with almost any other color. neutrals are an easy choice for starting any outfit.
an ivory turtleneck from Scotch and Soda looks fantastic with black pants from Spanx. the sweater has alpaca, which tends to be itchy. if that’s the case, wear a cami underneath. it helps! black loafers from Amalfi are classic, chic, and timeless. and they lend a subtle sophistication to this casual chic outfit. a black handbag from Coach keeps the outfit grounded in simplicity. but a black leather moto jacket (old, similar here) offers a modern and edgy vibe. all in all, this outfit is casual chic at its best.

Amalfi has been a favorite with me for 50 years as well. My very first pair of heels (white sling backs purchased for Jr High graduation in the dry goods store on Main Street of my very small home town!) were Amalfi. I’ve pretty much kept at least one pair in the closet since then.
amalfi is a fantastic brand then and now. it’s a testimony that you’ve had at least one pair of amalfi’s in your closet at any given time.
I am an old fan of Amalfi. Nordstrom’s has become my go to Department Store. There shoe department is the best. The in-store and on-line services are always exceptional.
what would we do without nordstrom? especially when in-store shopping is few and far between.

hi francesca! the jacket i am wearing is old from vince camuto. the jacket i linked to is ralph lauren who runs true to size. if you want
to wear chunky sweaters size up. if you will just be wearing the jacket with silk blouses or lightweight sweaters stick to your regular size.
