just because the weather has changed doesn’t mean your style game needs to suffer. in fact, winter essentials can actually elevate your outfit if you choose wisely. today, i’m sharing 10 winter wardrobe essentials that will serve you well in the upcoming months. what made this list? let’s check it out.
winter hat
if you want to elevate your winter coat try a fedora or beret. beanies will keep you toasty warm. if you’re trying to avoid hat hair then opt for ear muffs or headband.
statement coat
if you live in a cold climate you know an overcoat is more important than any other piece of clothing in your closet. choose a classic style that lets hats, scarves, and shoes add color and personality.
cashmere sweater
cashmere is a fine soft wool from the kashmir goat. one reason this is one winter staple i don’t mind investing in as it is eight times warmer than a typical wool sweater but infinitely lighter. and it’s soft.
skinny jeans
skinny jeans are a wardrobe essential for winter as they pair perfectly with a pair of boots. tuck skinny jeans inside knee high boots or cuff them when wearing ankle boots.
boots
boots are warm and chic. boots look fantastic with skinny jeans and a cashmere sweater. but i love to wear them with skirts and dresses.
sweater dress
a sweater dress is essential for the colder months. it’s cozy and comfy plus it easily transitions from work to weekend.
wool or cashmere scarf
a winter scarf is a finishing touch on any outfit. plus, they keep you warm when it’s cold outside.
turtleneck
for some reason, turtlenecks got a bad rap during the ’90s and were practically non-existent for a decade. but i have always looked at turtlenecks as a classic wardrobe staple. they look fabulous with jeans or dress pants. ’nuff said.
leather jacket
a leather jacket adds instant edge to any outfit. if you want to stay current and fresh just toss one over your sweater and jeans.
ankle boots
ankle boots are the perfect companion to blue jeans. but don’t forget they look great with tights and a dress.
