what’s better on a hot summer day than a dip in the pool? some of us have an allergic reaction to summer swimsuits, but who wants to miss a day spent by the ocean, lake, or pool? honestly, you don’t need a beach bod to lounge poolside. all you need is a cute swimsuit! today, we’re stepping into summer with summer swimsuits.
there are so many choices these days when it comes to summer swimsuits. one-piece, bikini, or tankini. where to start?
La Blanca has been a favorite swim brand of mine for years. this black one-shoulder suit didn’t disappoint! it’s lined with molded cups, flattering ruched shirring, and built-in tummy control. the swimsuit also comes in indigo. since we’re talking swimwear, let’s not forget to add a slouchy hooded coverup which is a must-have item to swish through any hotel lobby. it’s from La Blanca and comes in black or blue and could easily pull double duty as a light and airy tunic.
my mother loved hats and was a big fan of Eric Javits. when i scrolled by this fedora available in black, brown, or white and made from the brand’s patented Squishee® straw, i knew it would land in my cart. hats can be tricky to travel with but not this one! you can crush and smush the hat into a suitcase or beach bag without worrying it won’t spring back to life. now that’s my kind of hat! it’s on the pricey side, so check out these cute alternatives here or here.
sunglasses are a must-have if you’re spending time outside, what with all of the UV light that’s hard on our skin and eyes. one of my favorite sunglass designers is Prada, so i couldn’t resist adding these white frames into my sunglasses rotation. lower price alternatives can be found here and here.

Looks like you had such a good time!
You look great in your suit also.
Thank you for posing in a swimsuit. Seeing someone close to my age being fearless emboldens me to get out to the pool and beach!
Hi Beth!
Lovely and elegant as always. With the heat hitting the 90’s here in Fl, you’ve inspired me to jump into the beach as well. And I’m not much of beach person, lol!
Thank you again for a great post!!
If my body looked that good, I wouldn’t want a coverup. LOL I know you work hard at staying toned and fit and it shows. Classic black bathing suits always look right.
You look absolutely gorgeous. I’m sure you work hard to look as fit as you do. I’m hoping you’d consider sharing some of your nutrition and exercise choices with us.
You look great in this bathing suit! I bought a one shoulder bathing suit for a cruise that didn’t happen – Covid. I just turned 68 today and had put the bathing suit in my “for consignment “ pile thinking I am too old and might look foolish even if my body in decent shape. BUT after seeing you, that suit is coming out of that pile and going into my bathing suit draw!! Thanks for the post
How incredibly fabulous you look! That Peloton bike is worth the effort you give it. You inspire many of us to shake out the bathing suit wardrobe and get our Vitamin D the healthy way. I hope you model more swimsuits and sundresses; you always look fashionably fun in them!
Great swimsuit! Looks good on you.
You look absolutely stunning. You’re in incredible shape.
Beth, that suit is fabulous on you! I would have never tried a one shoulder suit, but it’s quite elegant and classy. Very attractive on you! How is the sizing? I think I wear similar sizes , what size did you get if you don’t mind sharing!
i purchased a size 10 as i have a long torso and most size 8’s just aren’t quite long enough.
Thank you!!
Fantastic! Your weightlifting is paying off big time.
I love the one shoulder suit; very flattering. What’s not to love?
