Spring Pants With a Hint of Stretch

Good morning, on this sunny but chilly day. For the past few days, the weather has dipped below freezing and I’ve woken up to sunshine and 29 degrees or thereabout. All I can say is spring has come to an abrupt halt in Georgia and I have no idea how my hydrangeas or any other of my foliage will respond. Ugh! I can only hope they will make a rebound once the temperature decides once and for all if it’s winter or spring.

I know we’re all waiting with bated breath for old man winter to say his goodbyes. Some of you still have snow on the groundโ€ฆ Come on spring we’re rooting for you. When this photo was snapped the weather was leaning into summer as I remember vividly it was an 80-degree day.

TL;DR

Today, I’m featuring a pair of spring pants with a hint of stretch from Anthropolgie

The pants are modeled, and I pulled together 2 alternates

Spring Pants With a Hint of Stretch

1. The Colette Cropped Wide-Leg Pants

(Anthropologie)

If you want to step into a pair of comfortable pants with a hint of stretch then let me introduce you to the Colette pant from Anthropologie. The Colette comes in a variety of colors and has front and back pockets and a front zip. When I wear a pair of cropped pants or wide-leg pants I choose my footwear accordingly.

Cropped wide-leg pants need a substantial shoe to balance the proportions. In fall/winter cropped pants look terrific with boots or a chunky platform. Spring/summer a platform sole works well too. So go ahead and choose a platform sneaker or platform sandal. Simple heeled slides would also work. Blade kitten heels or a block heel would also look trรฉs chic. I chose a platform slide and am quite happy with how it balances the outfit.

2. Pilcro Buttondown Blouse

(Anthropologie)

I chose a lightweight pin-tucked blouse with a boho edge to it. Once warm weather arrives I often veer from my tailored classic style towards a relaxed modern look. This blouse is definitely feminine but it’s sheer so I tucked a lace camisole underneath. I can leave a few buttons undone to let the lace peek out.

3. Bamboo Elisabetta Slouch Handbag

(Mark & Graham)

Accessories always add that little extra something and your personality to an outfit. A love pops of color and what better way to incorporate that than with an orange handbag?! This is one of my favorite bags to carry all spring and summer. I love the bamboo handles. It’s from Mark & Graham and comes in a variety of colors not just orange.

Since this outfit errs on the simple side I decided to add some bling. A statement necklace and gold bangles go a long way to spice up this outfit. Add a pair of gold hoops and this outfit is in the books!

Spring Outfits From My Favorite Retailers

Weekly Playlist

About The Author

  1. Kim

Beautiful post, as usual. Am admiring that Mark & Graham handbag! Am also enjoying the weekly playlist. Have always been intrigued by other people’s playlists as it’s an opportunity to discover new music.

    1. I’m so happy you are enjoying the playlist! And that Mark & Graham handbag is one of my favorites. It’s on style repeat all spring and summer.

  2. Cathy

I bought the Colette pants last summer, in solid moss green color. The are very comfortable and have held up well. They have stretch but don’t stretch so much that they are too big by the end of the day so my advice is to buy them in the size that fits you best when you try them on. I think they are good way to try this wider leg style.

    1. I am a big fan of these pants due to the comfort factor. I’m happy to hear you love them too!

  3. Iโ€™m confused by what style of pant is being uses this spring and summer. Wide leg, skinny, cropped or regular length? Help! I always love your choices.
    Cindy

    1. The sky is the limit these days! There’s a wide variety of styles to choose from, whether it’s wide-leg, trousers, cropped, or ankle-length.
Wide legs are definitely trending, and trousers too. The only style I would veer away from this year is skinny jeans.

  4. Jeanine Kesey

The collette pant looks like the perfect wide leg. Not so much you are swimming in them. I think a more colorful top would have been a better look. The white on white seemed to wash everything out. Itโ€™s nice that the retailers are offering such a variety of options now instead of just skinny everything.

    1. Isn’t that the great thing about style? Personal preference. And these super comfy Colette pants can be styled in multiple ways. White is but one.
Loving all the pants choices these days. There’s certain to be one just for you!

  5. Nancy

You hit it out of the ballpark with this outfit, IMO. I just love the light and airy top, and the uniqueness of the print in the pants. The colorful bag is the perfect finishing touch! Beautiful!
