well, you knew it was coming. one of my favorite stores with a very iconic look thanks in large part to jenna lyons and mickey drexler. many of you may know (or not) that mickey drexler was the ceo that turned gap into the go-to store in the nineties. but one-day don fisher decided to fire his savvy right-hand man, so mickey moved on over to j.crew and built this brand into the powerhouse it is today. on any given day, with any given blog post, there most likely will be one item sourced from j.crew. whether it be a bracelet here, a statement necklace here, a jazzy pencil skirt here, or my favorite – a blazer here. through the years, i have shopped this store on more than one occasion and am a big fan of their featherweight cashmere sweaters, striped t-shirts, and ballet flats. you will see many of the items i picked out for today’s shop sunday style post are classics that stand the test of time. one out of many reasons i love j.crew. the brand has taken a few hits in recent years due to claims of poor quality or ill-fitted garments. and this more or less rings true for most brands that shipped their manufacturing plants overseas. but that hasn’t deterred me from shopping at j.crew. if an item doesn’t work out (for whatever reason) then it goes back to the store. and j.crew has a very generous return policy. although i can only think of 1 item i had to return in the past year due to poor craftsmanship. that said, this preppy girl is always in heaven when a j.crew catalog comes in the mail or i step through their storefront doors.
so sit back with a cup of coffee and enjoy a few of my favorites from j.crew.
