well, gang, another friday is here, and with sunny skies here in Athens, i’m looking forward to enjoying the patio updates we have been working on the last few weeks. today’s post is all about the meat lover’s in your life. (including… woof woof.) we have a wilted kale salad with peppery flank steak and a fun twist on a margarita on the menu, so pull up a chair, fix yourself a drink and enjoy the day with us!
today’s outfit is all about casual comfort. favorite outfits are like comfort food to me and y’all know i love a graphic tee! a few weeks ago, i wrote about how to style a graphic tee. this graphic tee (old similar here) sets the stage with its pink elephants. but i like to elevate my look by pairing it with something like a blazer or cardigan. so today i couldn’t resist pairing it with a navy sweater blazer (old similar here) with pink piping.
straight leg jeans (old similar here) are perfect for a relaxed look and feel. sneakers complete my casual outfit today, but you could pair this outfit with loafers, ballet flats…it’s a very versatile outfit.

if you’ve been with me on the blog for any length of time, you know i love a margarita. this recipe calls for Midori, which is a melon-flavored liqueur. it has an electric green hue which looks fun and spring-y. the Midori is not overwhelmingly sweet and the melon flavor doesn’t overpower the drink, you still have your sour notes from the lime and the bite of the tequila – don’t forget the salted rim!

this might just be the easiest, fancy-feeling meal you can whip up! adding perfectly cooked steak slices to any salad elevates it to a main course. whether it’s for lunch or dinner, this is one satisfying salad not loaded with dressing or extras, it’s just the basics.

You look wonderful Beth, well rested! I’m so glad you are coming along so well. I am a meat lover and will def try this delicious looking recipe!! I generally eat low carb and fill on protein. Thank you for all the fashion tips and great recipes!
thanks, gwen! i am getting back to my old self but better. i think you will love today’s recipes, definitely a keeper.
Did u take walls out of your house? I don’t remember the open concept where couch is out in the open?
no walls down. it’s always been open concept but we did flip the leather couch around. it used to flank a wall now it flanks the dining room.
Oscar looks much happier now that he has a pal!!
he was looking pretty sad after mr. style passed away. but now he has two buddies – my son who is now living with me and pax!
Not only did this post make me smile but the expression on Oscar’s face made me laugh out loud. That steak looks delicious and I will pass the recipe to my husband. He likes to cook meat. You have such a beautiful home. I just enjoy your posts so much.
I’m glad you show us how to style graphic tee shirts. I love this combination.
i think you and your husband will love this recipe. it’s so easy to make yet so delicious. my favorite kind of recipe.
Have a wonderful weekend!
thanks, sharon!
Oscar doesn’t look to sure about the puppy 😁 p.s. your hair is getting really long
oscar does love pax. they’ve become good buddies. but pax is a puppy after all and wont to get into trouble or oscar’s face so to speak.
Yikes – that’s a wildly errant apostrophe in the headline and text.
well, i would beg to differ. an apostrophe can be used for possession by one owner, in this case, the meat. the English language is a strange one to be certain as you could also use the word lovers after meat to include all people. potato – potatoe. but thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for the ideas on styling graphic tees. Love the photos of the pets. I am curious about Ollie’s personality. I find Maine Coon Cats very interesting. I rarely see one.
maine coon cats are very social so wherever we are ollie is there too. they’re giant sized cats with a long tail and sturdy build. but their ears with tufts of hair are what easily identifies a maine coon cat. and they’re friendly playful and sweet.
Hi Beth,
Oscar and Pax are so cute together. What does Ollie think of Pax? My son has a Main Coon and an English Shepherd. The cat is the Alpha
that’s not surprising that a Maine Coon would be the Alpha. ollie definitely keeps oscar in check but they get along quite well. although ollie hasn’t warmed up to pax yet. we’ll see….
Beth, Do you use a marinade for that flank steak? Question about Pax. I must have missed the information about his new pup. Yours or Dogsitting ? Quite cute.
no marinade for the steak. and Pax is Jr. Style’s new puppy so he tags along on photo shoots.
I loved this post, a beatiful combination! Meat, kale and Marguerita, You look so relaxed and made me feel like being there with you and dogs. Have a nice weekend!
thanks so much, patricia! i am feeling almost 100% again. I’ll have my six week checkup on Monday and will start doing my PT at home.
Oscar and Pax look so happy together!
Ollie still likes her alone time it seems.
We have finally gotten to the 80’s here in NJ! Amazing how the sunshine and warmth lifts your spirits. Have a great weekend and enjoy the warmth!
so happy to hear spring finally sprung up north. the weather makes a big difference with our mood so go enjoy the beautiful day!
Omg your two puppies are adorable 😍
pax is so dang cute with the cutest personality too.
The pups and Ollie all look happy that it’s the weekend. So glad to hear you are doing well! You look terrific. The flank steaks sound easy and delicious. I’ll have to save this one–it would be an easy, simple meal that’s good for us, too. Happy Weekend! We have had the nicest spring, and I’m relishing this beautiful weather we’ve been having. Hope it’s the same in Athens.
hasn’t this been the most beautiful spring? wish we could bottle the weather and enjoy it for another month! i think you will love this easy and nutritious recipe, Suzanne! it’s a keeper.
I have missed something….who is Pax?
pax is jr. style’s new puppy!
The tee shirt is the bomb!
i’m always a sucker for graphic tees!
I would love to know what type of cat beautiful Ollie is. I want one just like him!!!!
ollie is a Maine Coon cat which have the most delightful personalties.
I remember when graphic tees were considered cheesy – now they are all the rage – and I am fully onboard. My two favs are a Route 66 tee, a NY Knicks tee, and my most recent purchase is a Lake Como tee, which features all the small villages around the lake. We have such great memories of our family trip last August to Italy – so happy that we went when we could. I think I will wear that one today. Best wishes to all!
Love the nice and simple recipe, steaks are popular in my household too. Oscar and Pax look like great company, but I find Ollie fascinating, I work with cats and last year had the pleasure of looking after a family of six Maine Coon cats. They were so laid back and easy to care for with gentle temperaments for such large cats. I have always had cats of my own so am therefore more biased towards cats, although I love all animals. I also love your blazer, I have a similar one navy and white stripes, so comfortable.
