there are certain occasions in life that demand a more conservative look. power lunch, client dinner, boardroom meeting, or charity pow-wow. whatever the event, this is the time to play it conservative. one of my go-to outfits is a simple black suit, and white blouse. but instead of a matching blazer and skirt i chose separates to give the outfit a bit of individuality. i’m a sucker for boucle knit, it’s such an elegant fabric, so i pounce when i find the perfect boucle blazer. i love the extra details like the epaulets, stand up collar, and over-sized buttons. the skirt is made out of ponte which is as flattering as it is comfortable. men always like to wear a red power tie with their conservative suit, but i went with a nice shade of red on my lips instead of a tie. the devil is in the details so i added a belt with a nice-sized brass buckle to keep the overall look from being too conservative. a smart structured handbag polishes off this nine-to-five ootd.

Went to Sephora yesterday to see if your lipstick would look good on me. Let’s say you carry it off perfectly. But that didn’t keep me from buying two Guerlains.
i have a new shade of red that i think would look good on you – lana by nars. it’s bright! i have it on in today’s ootd. how have you been?
