what can i say about the classic moto jacket? and why do i consider a moto jacket to be a classic item? just like my tagline, trends come and go, but true style is ageless; timeless wardrobe staples and classic leather jackets have staying power. if chosen well, a timeless moto jacket will last for years. it’s a forever chic look that can be dressed up and down with ease. moto jackets look equally fantastic with a dress or a graphic tee and jeans. the choice is yours. it’s the ultimate layering piece that is perfect for those chilly days fall loves to deliver. these days there is a variety of choices when it comes to the mighty moto jacket. there’s leather, faux leather, suede, and vegan to choose from. plus, moto jackets have a wide range of price points, so i know there is a jacket that’s perfect for you and your budget.
this iconic jacket has a rich history dating back to WWI. once again; we have the military to thank for a fashion staple. German fighter pilots were the first to don bomber jackets. in the late 1920s, irving schott designed the first motorcycle jacket for Harley Davidson. Schott incorporated a side zip and shortened the length. it was a hit with avid motorcycle enthusiasts as they could lean over their bikes with ease. but it leaped into popularity in the 1950s when screen legend marlon brando embraced this tough-guy jacket in his performance as a motorcycle gang leader in the Wild One. today, there are so many choices for moto jackets, from a side zip and triangle collar to a stand collar and single zip.
this time of year, the weather starts to fluctuate. mornings and evenings are cool, but by mid-day, the heat is on! that’s when a classic moto jacket comes to the rescue. today, my ootd starts with a summer classic, the mighty sheath dress (limited sizes similar here and here) from Ann Taylor. instead of adding bright pops of color indicative of summer, i eased this white dress into fall with the addition of a leather moto jacket. a zebra print neckerchief last seen here gives the outfit personality, while snake print slingbacks (old, similar here and here) add a modern touch. let’s not forget to add a trend into the mix with a black baguette handbag that won’t break the bank. all in all, this outfit is ready for a day at the office or a ladies’ lunch.

Love the look! You’re always smashing in black and white.
I love the look of leather and especially this style jacket but I just do not feel comfortable in lace or leather. It’s a fashion flaw.
You look stunning in this outfit!
This is one of my favorite outfits. Looks awesome on you🌻
HI Beth love the combination as usual look super on you.
If you see a pair of shoes with the black tip, please let me know.
I love them, do not like the whole animal shoe, as much.

Your white Chanel jacket would also be good with the black and white pallet. Love the shoes! I have a cream Chico’s moto jacket I expect to wear lots this winter . But in NE Fla. we have to wait until Jan for cold weather.
