#ad #THEeyeSOLUTION
remember last month when i shared my eye journey in partnership with THE eyeSOLUTION from Alcon? how i went from 20/20 vision throughout most of my life to less than perfect eyesight when i strolled into my fifties? but with the help of contact lenses, my eyesight has returned to 20/20. now how’s that for modern medicine? but if you’re like me, becoming a contact pro is just the beginning of your beautiful eye story. last month we discussed how to properly store contacts in a solution that cleans and disinfects the lenses overnight.
but there are a few other tips i can share with you. first off, pay close attention to your ophthalmologist. that was step number one for me as i followed every single piece of advice given to me by my doctor. so i limit wearing my contacts to eight hours per day. and i rarely wear them if i am out and about at night in a restaurant or pub – alcohol causes dehydration. caffeine does too. i also try to limit time spent sitting in front of the computer. but let’s face it, sometimes i need to finish a blog post well after the clock strikes midnight. and my contacts are still in place. when that happens or any other time i notice my eyes become dry and irritable there is a solution. I use Systane Balance after I take my lenses out or first thing in the morning before I pop into the shower. within minutes after using Systane Balance my eyes begin to feel soothed and comfortable. after my shower, i’m ready to slip my contacts in, get ready for the busy day ahead, and focus on what’s really important. and, yes, being a style blogger has its advantages. it’s my job to flip through the latest fashion magazine while sipping a cup of joe. all the better to bring you lovely readers, the latest and greatest trends!

a big thank you to THEeyeSOLUTION, Alcon, and Systane for this supported collaboration! I have received compensation from Alcon, but as always, all opinions are my own.

I am 54 and wear reading glasses but plan to convert to contacts. Glasses do a number on the bridge of my nose which is not complimentary – so vain!
i don’t mind wearing glasses, but contacts are so much easier and they don’t slip off my nose or leave a ridge! it was a challenge at first popping them in and then back out. it was worth learning! good luck.

Lady of leisure on her porch. I like the graphic polka dot pillow with the blues. Eyes are the windows to the soul, so we have to take care of ’em!
aren’t these pillows cute, sue? i snagged them on sale at target. it was from their collaboration with marimekko! and they’re perfect for the porch.
and our eyes? it’s so important to take care of them as we age. i’m thankful for my eyesight that’s for certain.
