Happy Sunday, ladies! A late post today, because I spent the morning with the kiddos celebrating Mother's Day. Not to fear, though, because I've got a fun Sunday evening post for you: 5 white denim trends I'm wearing this Spring & Summer.
One wardrobe essential I can’t live without is denim. Wearing white denim for spring and summer is a classic way to keep it casual and cool. White denim is crisp and clean and is dressed up or down. Versatility is the name of the game when it comes to style. I don’t know about you, but I like a bang for my buck and want multiple ways to style a single item. The secret to a capsule wardrobe is a chic pair of denim; honestly, nothing beats a pair of white denim all spring and summer.
Years ago, white denim was once considered an exclusive summer item, a piece with a life span from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Thank goodness this old-fashioned rule has been thrown out the window, and this closet classic has earned its right to be worn 365 days a year thanks to its variety of silhouettes and sartorial versatility. But I think it looks particularly chic during the warmer months.
The easy part of styling white denim is that any and all colors go with it. So the sky is the limit. All of my wardrobe staples easily pair with white denim: trench coat, moto jacket, cashmere, button-up, striped tee, and a cardigan. Add a chic pair of shoes and a killer handbag, and you are ready to head out the door in minutes while looking uber-chic. But there are other shades of white to consider besides bright white. There are a handful of other shades to consider, like ecru, ivory, bone, and cream.
Here are a couple of style tips to consider when purchasing white denim. Avoid flimsy fabric at all costs. You never want your panty lines to show through. And consider sizing up one size to give a sleek silhouette.
A monochromatic look is easy to achieve with white denim. Simply choose a white blouse or tee, and you’re done! But adding a third layer is easy with a monochromatic white outfit. A denim jacket, blazer, or utility jacket looks terrific with an all-white ensemble.
The classic color combo of black and white is always all right. It’s chic and sophisticated and always in style. Add a pair of strappy sandals or heels to give the outfit personality!
White denim also feels fresh against dark greens, browns, taupe, and khaki. My favorite is white and camel. Just like black and white, this color combo is chic and sophisticated.
Keep it classic and chic by pairing white denim with a chambray or gingham shirt. Add strappy brown sandals for a Parisian vibe.
Remember, the great thing about white denim is its ability to accentuate the color it’s paired with. Love red or pink? An easy way to elevate your spring/summer look is by pairing it with a colorful statement blouse. It couldn’t be easier than that!
And if you’re looking to stay on trend, adding a pair of trendy denim to your wardrobe won’t break the bank and is an easy way to test the trend waters. Let’s take a look at five styles of white denim that are trending this season. Everyone has a silhouette that makes them feel confident and comfortable. And don’t forget to add a white denim skirt to your denim list. They are the perfect alternative to denim on a hot summer day.

I love the relaxed look and feel of straight-leg denim. This pair is from Ralph Lauren with a mid-rise. I added a frayed hem for a dressed-down laid back vibe that’s perfect for a casual outing. Add an oversized linen blazer to elevate your casual look. A straw tote or wicker handbag screams spring/summer.
Style tip:
Want a frayed hem? It’s easy to achieve at home. Here’s how:
The spring runways prove the current IT jean is the wide-leg jean with slouchy and baggy winning the day. However, you can incorporate wide-leg denim into your closet without looking like the Michelin Man.
I chose this cropped wide-leg from J. McLaughlin that shows off your footwear and has a slim fit through the waist and hips. It is a VERY comfortable jean that will be on style repeat. I added a red stripe tee (old, similar here), classic denim jacket, and red shoes (old, similar here) for a classic contemporary look. I truly believe every woman should own at least one pair of red shoes. They’re just plain fun to wear and add personality to any outfit.
Or add a simple white button-up and neutral footwear for a completely different look.
This demi boot crop from J.Crew comes in regular, petite, and tall and can be dressed up or down with ease. I love the high-rise waist and cool kicky frayed hem. Reviews have said it runs small, and I agree, but I’m wearing my typical size 29, and I don’t think it feels super tight just snug. It’s slim through the hip and thigh with a slim, flared leg.
For a casual daytime look, pair these jeans with a striped tee and white sandals. For an evening look, add a flowing top and strappy sandals.
If you want to lean into the ‘70s trend add a touch of flare to your wide legs. I love this full-length high-waisted jean from J.Crew that’s wide enough to wear over pointed-toe boots in the winter or wedges in the summer. It’s fitted through the hip and thigh with a full-length flared leg.
If you want your legs to look long and lean, then this pair is for you. I added a black top and leather belt and grabbed a classic handbag for a chic look that will take you to lunch with the girls or a shopping expedition.
The devil is always in the details, so look for a pair of denim that stands out from the crowd. I love a button fly feature, especially when it sits outside the jean.
These straight white jeans from J.Crew Factory has all-day stretch fabric, which gives an easy feel and a little bit of give. It sits at the waist and is fitted with a straight leg through the waist and thigh. So not skinny and not wide. And it’s a nice weight for summer. I added a striped tee for a laid-back look and a jean jacket to complete this springtime ensemble.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, Beth! Hoping your day was as wonderful as mine.
Happy Mothers Day Beth. I like White denim jeans too.
Liked all your our looks.
Hi Beth,
I am looking for the black blouse, v- neck, stand up collar, elbow length sleeves that you wore on 5/14-all about denim. When I click on the blouse or name on your site, it refuses to take me to the store website. Help!

Unfortunately, that sold out lickety split. It was from Anthropologie.
