I am over 40 and flattered to be asked:)
My first job was working for the sports network at the University of Tennessee. I had the chance to do feature stories on the athletes. It was so much fun to craft stories about players and give the fans a chance to know more about them than just their game stats. My favorite story was about the nicknames the players called each other. The story ended with replay of a game and I had it called using their nicknames. It was a big hit.
It has been my experience that first impressions are usually right on point. I knew instantly when meeting certain people that are my closest friends, that we had a connection that would last a lifetime. I also think you know instantly in many cases if a house is the one you have been dreaming of, a piece of jewelry or even a car. I think we have great intuition; unfortunately, most of us do not exercise listening to it. We instead try to analyze and overthink everything when usually our first impression would lead us in the right direction if we would allow it to.
Being a host at HSN, there was never a dull moment. It was truly a job that kept me on my toes as every day there were new products, and because the show is live, you never know what might happen. Lots of things occur during the live show that the viewer at home never sees. Lights explode on set and catch fire; a bird once got into the studio and was flying around; when I was preggers, I had to use the bathroom nonstop so we would take a little 30-second break, and they would push me at lightspeed in a wheelchair to the restroom. The hours were wild. When you tell people that you meet that you are working at midnight, they look at you rather curiously because there aren’t too many jobs that start at that time of night. I also literally never knew what day it was because I never had set days off. My favorite thing about working at HSN was the viewers at home. They were like family as many would email and also communicate via Facebook lives. I considered it an honor to be a guest in their homes every day and share stories, laughter, and a love of shopping together. Spending 22 years together almost every day, we formed a special friendship. I also considered my fellow hosts and crew my family as many of us worked together from a very young age; it was like we grew up together.
Connie Craig-Carroll jewelry was born out of my passion for art and beauty. I was voted most artistic in fifth grade:)
I have always loved beautiful things, and after working in jewelry and studying gemstones, it became a dream of mine to do my own line. I think the history and the folklore of the stones are so intriguing. I love the artisanship and heritage of crafting jewelry. Most of all, I love the way it makes you feel when you find jewelry that speaks to you. It makes you feel pretty. It makes you happy! Could there be a better job in the world than bringing people happiness and making them feel pretty, I don’t think so. It makes my heart full to hear from someone who has received a piece of my jewelry, and they tell me how special it makes them feel.
I would tell my 20 something-year-old self that you don’t have to have everything figured out exactly. Your life may not follow the exact roadmap that you crafted for it, but everything will work out just like it is supposed to. You will end up exactly where you are meant to be, so enjoy the journey, take the trip, buy the handbag, have lots of fun!
My motto is… Always believe something good is about to happen.
I would definitely choose the ocean. There is nothing more relaxing than the sound of the waves, the ocean breeze, the smell of the salty air, and the feeling of sunshine on your face. My only problem is I get so relaxed, it’s hard for me to stay awake at the beach. LOL.
Three words to describe my life right now are Grateful, Excited, and Busy.

Beautiful jewelry! Would you pass on a concern to Connie please. Is there a plan to size up slightly on the toggle bracelets for plus size women? My wrist measurement is greater than the large in the current collection. I love the bracelets. Thank you Beth, for featuring this designer. All her jewelry is amazing.

“Buy that bag, take that trip” This is a girl with the right priorities. Her jewelry makes a statement for sure. I love the colors. I’m small as in short and small features. So, I stick to smaller pieces but I would consider these pieces as gifts.
