oscar turns one

there’s a birthday in our house this month, although, we don’t know the exact day. and since i’ve had quite a week this week, including my computer crashing with more than a few photos along with it i decided today was the day to celebrate oscar’s birthday and share a brief montage of his growth over the past year. when life hands you lemons you’ve gotta make lemonade. the reason we don’t know the exact day oscar was born is he is a rescue pup that came into our lives at around eight or nine weeks of age shortly before christmas 2014. the first two photos were taken when he arrived at our house.

you can see why he stole our hearts from the beginning. isn’t he adorable? and you could see right away that he was born with a good temperament. although, at the beginning we had a few issues to navigate through like getting carsick, and separation anxiety.

but we persevered, and started getting oscar involved with puppy playgroups to socialize him. he now has regular outings with a dog walker and he’s able to play with a few of his buddies on a regular basis.

fridays with oscar came about quite organically as oscar would tag along with us on our photo shoots. we wanted to snap pics of him chronicling his growth from adorable puppy to full grown canine. i put one of those early photos on instagram and people started asking me for more.

now we have a weekly post that many of you look forward to. mostly we take photos as we’re going about our daily life. but sometime we head to the beach or some other scenic san francisco spot.

oscar can be a ham for the camera at times. and i love to sneak those photos in when i can. take a look for yourself. other times he gets a bit distracted.

one thing is for certain, we absolutely adore this terrific dog. happy birthday buddy!
