it’s the weekend, gang! this week went by in a nano-second, but we’re home again, home again, jiggety jig! and we all know there’s no place like home. for those of you interested in my trip to boston there will be a recap as soon as the video for the EdX platform is edited and aired. but i will share how much i enjoyed interacting with the students and faculty from BU, and sharing what i’ve learned over the course of my blogging career. there’s nothing quite like a university setting – so much energy buzzing around!
but i’m chillin’ on the porch today taking it easy and enjoying friday with mr. style and oscar. a cheese tray and wine sounded like the perfect way to kick off the weekend. so i zipped off to the market and came home with a few of our favorites. upon arrival, oscar is always the first to greet me. who knows? there might be a little special something for him.

sweet and savory are singing my song today. what did i come home with? cheeses: gouda, parmesan reggiano, goat cheese, gorgonzola, and stilton with mango and ginger (my favorite!) meats: mortadella and sopprocoto. then i added dried apricots, cornichon pickles, grapes, a pot of honey, red pepper jelly, and cranberry bread.
fresh raspberries, rosemary carr crackers, and nuts were added into the mix for variety. does it look as good as it tasted? i hope so.
the porch has switched over to fall pillows and throw. just one way to usher in autumn with open arms!
oscar is ever hopeful there will be something he likes. but guess what? he always turns his nose down with raspberries. mortadella was more to his liking. this girl was a different story as i might have licked my plate.
i did want to point out these cute mules by sam edelman that might be my new shoe crush. perhaps it’s the capped toe that i’m smitten with. but mules are all the rage this season, and i’m goin’ with the flow.
a looser fit blazer is also trending, and i’m happy to see them back in action. loved them the first time around in the nineties. in my opinion graphic tees never go out of style, and i always love to throw one on with a blazer and blue jeans. some things never change. like my love for belts which always add a little something extra to any ootd.
all right, ladies, let’s get this party started! oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend.
Loved Oscar looking in your shopping bag to see what you bought! I remember my best buddy doing the same! Love your outfil! So comfortable looking & love the food you picked to serve. I come from an big Italian family & that is the way we loved to eat!
mr. style swears i am italian as i love the dolce vita the italians are known for. and the food?! well, you do know how to serve up a dish or two. xo
This delicious feast is out of my own heart for my favorite eating delights. I think Oscar believes these are his new treats! I am looking forward to seeing your talk in Boston, it sounds like you had a great experience doing that. Enjoy your delightful porch and this weekend.
what a wonderful time i had in boston speaking to the undergrads and MBA students. nothing quite like the energy found on a college campus. the weather is on the cool side this weekend (cool for georgia) so i intend to camp out on the porch.
xo
Glad to hear you got home safe and sound and had a good trip to Boston! The weather looks nice there–same in VA right now, where I’m currently nesting: fall is on its way, and I’m good with that. I’ll be off to DC next week. Your board of goodies is great–makes me homesick. Eating on the road always makes me pine for my nice touches at home. Enjoy–it all looks good to me! Have a great weekend.
is it cooler up in boston? the temps dipped here and it even felt cool this morning! i’ll take it. have a safe trip to DC this week. i’ll be close by in NYC. xo
Oscar is so cute checking out what you bought at the market. All of it looks yummy! Will keep checking to see if you have your BU trip on the blog. Glad it was a great experience! Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo
he is so nosy, donna! he has to check out everything. but he knows we bring home treats from time-to-time hence the bag check. have a great weekend yourself. xo
I really like your style. I like German Shepherds too. Had one as a child. That cheese board…I would be stuffed!????
what smart dogs german shephards are! love oscar to bits. and i think it’s safe to say we were stuffed after gnoshing on cheese and sipping red wine. xo
