January is quickly coming to an end, with February hot on its heels. It’s the month of love, and we’re gonna focus on self-care. If we don’t take time to love ourselves, our tank will hit empty pretty darn quick. And who wants that? Said no one, ever. So grab your best gal, hubs, or fam and plan a FUN Valentine’s or Galantine’s party. It doesn’t have to be fancy; use what you have on hand, head to your local bakery but set time aside this Valentine’s Day to spread the love.
But before we leave January completely behind, Oscar is here today for his weekly gig. We’ve got a Love Struck cocktail on the menu, and I threw together a cute outfit that celebrates Love. Literally the cutest Valentine’s sweater. So come on in and stay awhile. Hopefully, you’ll leave with a bit of inspiration tucked up your sleeve. (Oh, and make sure you read to the end of the post. We’ve got some changes coming to the blog.)
The cutest Valentine’s sweater
Last year near Valentine’s, I featured a gray and white love sweater in this post. This year it’s shades of red, pink, and cream: I mean, how cute is this Love sweater from Loft? Gotta say I never tire of red and pink. Maybe that’s why I love Valentine’s day, as it’s infused with this color scheme. Loft and Talbots have the best selection if you’re looking for Valentine-specific sweaters or tees. I picked out a few of my favorites. Take a look below.
Don’t reserve your plaid pants just for the holidays. Instead, recycle them all winter long. Add a jazzy sweater for an upbeat look, or pair them with a navy blazer to tone to look down.
There are some new and fun things coming your way in February!
We’re going to be creating a new section explicitly devoted to my daily outfits—I think we’ll name it Daily Outfits… how’s that for originality!
Every week, I’ll share selfies with that day’s ootd (5x outfits in all) with a shopping widget, as many of you stop by the blog to shop my outfits. The Daily Outfits will have a specific space on the main page of the blog for shopping ease. The web designer is working on that now. In the meantime, it will be shared as a featured blog post.
We’re also going to expand and refine our long-form content. So continue to expect topics ranging from health & beauty to fashion tutorials anything and everything that helps us age with grace, strength, and beauty. If there’s a topic that’s of interest to you please leave a comment with your suggestion.
In the meantime:

Love this outfit! Thanks for the point about wearing plaid pants all winter, as I wore my black watch plaid pants yesterday with a turtleneck for a cozy look. Love your style and all the great information you share.
With so many Covid delayed weddings getting back on the schedule this year, I’d love to see a series on the different dress codes, and outfit ideas for them for all the seasons. I have a ‘black tie optional’ wedding this July and feel much more comfortable with that dress code in winter than in summer. How to dress up to that level, without melting! Accessories too, not just the clothes. Thank you! Your blog is one of my first websites of the day!
I was excited to see you wear the red plaid pants with the Love sweater! Fabulous look! Give Oscar a hug for me! Your new content ideas sound great! Have a great weekend!
I’d love to see more makeup content. Specifically I’m looking for a *very* easy, minimal makeup routine. I grew up on the coast of California and we didn’t wear makeup. I know this is lame, but I’m 62 and I’ve never worn mascara. How on earth do you apply it? It’s witchcraft! And lip color is another whole situation. I can’t be the only one. Baby steps here, Beth, please.
thanks for the suggestion. i do have several makeup tutorials on my YouTube channel. five minute eyes is a good place to start. https://youtu.be/qs5YZbSo63A
You spell LOVE so well. LOVE was my operative word last year. This is what Oscar is all about, so much LOVE for you, and of course you for him.
Fur children take our hearts to a very special place.
It sounds exciting the up dates you are working
on for your blog. Good for you. Always looking for improvement keeps things so fresh.
While your outfit is so cute, Oscar is stealing the show today. Just love how he looks at you and also just how sweet he looks! We have four rescue pups and you can really tell a lot from their eyes.
Beth,
So looking forward to your new content. I would love to know how you go about scheduling your days to make them the most productive and include exercise, house and yard chores, etc., etc. Thanks!
thanks for the suggestion. every once in a while on Instagram I share “a day in the life of an influencer.” but i’ll see what i can put together for a blog post.
Looking sensational Beth! Love the colors of Valentine’s Day! The sweater is so cute. I love that’s it’s a light color background. I have 3 sweaters with hearts, and all 3 are a dark background. Yours is so bright and cheery.
Recipe looks great. Can’t wait to try it. I rated it 5 stars because all the ingredients appeal to me, so I know I’ll like it. Happy Weekend!
